The way she repeatedly drags the metal spoon over the bottom of the virtually empty ceramic bowl of oatmeal. For what? To get that last little remenant of the essence of oatmeal on the spoon?

Clink. Scrape, scrape scrape. Clink. Repeat 16 times.

Are you staying home from school/work? Yes, yes I am. Home full time + working remote full time. 

If you are staying home, who’s with you? my fam! Well, really I’m with them--I came back to parents’ house for quarantine. So my parents, my sister, and my sister’s dog.

Are you a homebody? Ummm... somewhat, usually? I like getting out and walking/exploring wherever I live, but I also love a quiet day (or ten) at home. This is getting to be a bit much even for me, though. 

An event you were looking forward to that got cancelled? I had a work conference I was excited about, and then I was going to visit my grandparents, and then my best friend for her birthday & baby shower right after the conference. :( 

What movies have you watched recently? uh... my sister and a friend and I did a virtual movie night with “back of the net” which is... an australian high school soccer camp movie? that was last week. I haven’t honestly been watching a lot of movies. Frozen II I guess? oh, and I watched Onward.

What shows are you watching? I did end up watching Tiger King, but other than keeping up with Brooklyn Nine-Nine I haven’t watched much TV.

What music are you listening to? Mostly a lot of Norah Jones, which is always soothing. Also Ivan & Alyosha, the Family Crest, and whatever musical’s stuck in my head. At this exact moment I turned on Taylor Swift’s Red, so... that, right now.

What are you reading? I just finished The Honey Don’t List by Christina Lauren last night. I’m slowly reading The Merciful Crow, which is excellent but I can’t seem to focus on right now, and listening to Invisible Women: Data Bias in a World Designed for Men, which is both fascinating and demoralizing. I think I’ll pick up Bringing Down the Duke next.

What are you doing for self-care? Baking--I just made my second successful loaf of sourdough! Following a bunch of artists and florists on instagram. Yoga with my mom and sister (almost) every morning. Trying not to beat myself up too much when it’s hard to focus on work (i.e. I should be working right now, but here we are). Letting myself read as many romcom-y books as I want with 0 judgment for not doing my usual mix of other stuff. I’m pretty much constantly berating myself in my head (my most used phrase to myself is gentle, connor, gentle, like i’m holding a newborn instead of talking to my own twenty-seven-year-old self) so that’s a hard one.
