I was never entirely sure how clear I made this in the actual fic, its a delicate little hint, but I think* Jackson and Isaac end up together later. They probably, really, hook up the next morning: Jackson falls asleep there, next to Isaac. They curl up on top of one another the way they used to when they were children, when they were still friends. He supposes they’re not, technically, friends now.  Can you be friends with someone you haven’t seen in seven years? 

Isaac wakes up first. Luisa is downstairs, making breakfast for Jackson’s parents, washing the cups Jackson and Isaac used last night, dumping out the wet grounds from the coffee machine before brewing another pot. He thinks about moving but doesn’t really know where to go. Doesn’t want to go back across the street. Doesn’t want to go home.

"You’re thinking too loud," Jackson grumbles. He hasn’t even bothered to open his eyes. Isaac blurts out an apology, whiplash quick, and Jackson groans. "Shhhhhhhhut up." He pulls the pillow over both of their heads. "How are you not tired, I am fucking tired." They were probably like this even as kids; Isaac waking up early and playing quietly in Jackson’s room, because he didn’t want to bother anyone, while Jackson lazed around until he damn well felt like getting up.

It’s hotter under the pillow, it’s weirder, even though they were lying close together before. Isaac smells like Armani still, and Jackson like some ridiculous almond hair conditioner Lydia bought him and he’s addicted to. It hits all at once - the way they’re lying together, curled up around each other, how easy it is. 

"Hey," Jackson says, quiet, inane, stupid, and he lifts his chin as if to say ‘what of it?’

"Hey," Isaac says back, a whisper, because it feels like a time you should whisper. Hushed and secret. The kiss is soft too, inevitable and comfortable and unhurried. 

aaaand they play hooky from school and go to the diner and Jackson orders them pancakes just the way they like, and chocolate milk - Isaac makes a weird little face at him, like it’s that hard to remember how a person likes their pancakes, Christ - and Jackson feels… light.

First i must come out with a terrible secret : i pretty much ship everyone x everyone.

Except Stiles/Scott, sorry stilescotters if you're out there but the ship does not work for me and weirdly enough, i feel like the show is trying to hint it? Like someone was like "oh we're making a teen show maybe we should included some of this slash the youngsters have been talking about... what's popular? best friends couples? sure let's do that! writer, include some careful hints at homosexuality between the main characters!" and then the whole fandom just goes "minus thirteen sexual tension >_>" and moves onto sterek. Like i swear in the first season stiles/scott is hinted a lot more clearly than sterek ever was and like, even all of us with our slash goggles on, didn't even bat an eye. Like the scene where they're discussing homosexuality (or was it kissing?) for some reason and Stiles is like "so maybe we should try? no? no?" and i was like "eww bro". Am i the only one that spotted that kind of thing? maybe i just have my goggles on too tight.

for an example that i can actually remember (less obvious though) his mom goes "NO STILES" and i was like "ohhh how cute" but in Scott's case it didn't sound slashy at all, even though i'm like the king of bff romance and i see it everyfuckingwhere. Like i was shipping stan/kyle from 13yrs old and i breath mark/eduardo (havard!era is my favourite fic!) but scott/stiles is now my proof that i'm not just mindlessly erasing male friendship : i do require actual sexual tension to ship! yaaaay ! (happy to know i'm not that sad)

but back to the episodes oh myyyy, pack feelings everywhere exploding all over the place.

Let me first say that Isaac and Erica are the best thing ever. Like at the start of the season I was like "noooo Derek you already have pack what you doing boy!" but in retrospect, great choices Derek!

Not only is Isaac the cutest puppy to ever cute, get out Boo, Erika is also super adorable and they're both hilarious : I just can't handle their attitude. They act exactly how two socially rejected teens would if they'd suddenly been turned into super powered creatures, strutting around like "you can't tame me!" and trying to be badass while failing in adorable ways due to chronic naïveness and lack of thinking. I love that they're such puppies! You can see Erica think "FIERCE >D" to herself when she walks around, and i can't get over their interactions together, they have so much potential i love them to bits! i don't know if i ship them, if it's more like brother and sister or if they're my fave brOTP!

also extra point for isaac for looking cute even while wolfed out, wtf

this episode was absolutely amazing with the pack interaction, especially with my favourite thing : pack!mom stiles! but i've heard it's not pc so uhm "pack protector in a gentle, worry-prone fashion"!stiles. (i can write an essay on why i think pack!mom is not offensive that links to my opinion on parenthood and gender roles, alias that they should be dissociated but i ramble on enough, please no one kill me over this i fear conflict)

Seeing Stiles being awesome with the pups and them listening to him and uncle scott (big brother scott?) going "be careful" and nggggghhhh. I'm also happy that they said Erica used to have a crush on Stiles because come on, i knew that non-Lydia type girls would be all over him, look at his adorable little face and subtle intelligence!

that segues into me shipping Stiles/Erica maybe a tiny bit? I love sterek (like woah), but i've always been pairing promiscuous x) aren't they darling though? stiles would run his mouth and erica would be like "what" and overly sexual and he'd be all "aaaaah >///>" and she'll secretly remember every word he ever uttered and then later on like, give her informed opinion on it, and be all like "your dad's the sherriff... so do you have some handcuffs?" and Stiles would be like "INAPPROPRIATE, i DO NOT want to think about my dad right now" and she'll be like "well deal with it cause i like police role play :(" and they'll continue to have a highly awkward relationship where stiles is his usual fretting self and she's just going all "dark and sexy except i adore you and want to jump you due to your sexy brain" on him. also inappropriate is a key word i think for erica :p

i also ship isaac/jackson though? some pretty intense lust glare we had in that gif! and it would be amazing because of pack hierarchy, what if one of them is an omega and we have awesome bottom!fic, like both these dudes totally need to be dominated (oh god best idea ever isaac/derek/jackson, that is GOLD) so there's some hot action in there underneath the infinite feelings of inadequacy and power play. and lydia/erica would totally be scheming behind their backs. also lydia/erica, fiercest couple ever? i think so

i think i ship danny/isaac for the purpose of the hot (i just did a whole fanfiction in my head, maybe i should get back to writing), but also isaac/boyd for the same reasons for the awesome pack dynamic again, boyd is the rock isaac needs to grab onto, he's a lost puppy that needs someone to scratch him behind the ears and look his way smiling and i think boyd could be that someone, that stability that isaac needs. It would also be hilarious because isaac would be a total tsundere in that relationship and boyd would just be like "i know he loves me" and not be shaken?

i even ship scott/allison because the scene where they talk (and allison's mother is creeping in a terrifying way?) is so THEM that it made me realise what i like about their relationship : scott is a massive doofus and allison is a heaven sent angel of patience and... argh i can't describe my characterisation of allison correctly, like she's not stupid herself, but she's simple enough (not simple dumb, simple in a "not complicated, free" way) that scott's special brand of stupid doesn't keep her from loving him because she sees the earnest, true, good man he is inside. I'm sure Scott will be a wonderful man when he reaches like 30 years old, and it's like Allison is already this mature version of Scott, except cleverer book and maybe a bit life-wise. (they are alike, come on, she spill the beans to her dad because she's too honest, the infamous "don't you mean bes..." comments :p)

i'm sure i've forgotten stuff (like the three billion other ships i have and all my "EW GROSSSSS" jackson moments, also i'm judging all his life decisions, every time he did something during that episode i was like "sorry i can't hear you over the fact that you have SWALLOWED A LIVE SNAKE") (also my hardcore lydia feelings, oh baby ily, i was like "nuuuuuh lydia he is CREEPEH" during all the scenes with mystery lover boy, what is she gonna dooo, i'm gonna flip if that murdering bastard comes back, his burnt corpse is the scariest thing, like worse that Allison's mum and that's something! can't wait for next week, even though the teaser showed that Erica might get hurt, in that case do not want :(
