céline ( named after an old - and deceased - friend of her mother ) was born in boston, at the boston institute, which was run by her parents. 

she was raised as every privileged nephlim was. she got her marks, she studied the codex, learned shadowhunters were better than any other species, trained to protect poor mundanes and never questioned the law

that is, until she was sixteen & her father went mia during a hunt & as a result, the clave removed her mother as as the head of the boston institute & stripped her of her runes for her father’s crime. 

her entire world was reduced to rubble, and in its wake, she was filled with new purpose. céline, having been extremely ashamed by her father’s betrayal, is determined to redeem the midwinter name.

to due so, she’s often the first to volunteer to go patrol, or scout a potential threat & is literally a glory hog; she’s not an amateur shadowhunter by any means ( she’s not cocky for no reason ), but most would say she’s a big risk to take along. 99% of her impulsive decisions lead to positive results, but no one really wants to take the chance to see the 1%

when people elect to exclude her on hunts ( which lowkey really hurts her ), you can find her messing around with anything that can be taken apart -- she’s constantly taking things apart so she can use the parts for some idea she has. tinkering is just a hobby of hers.

céline is extremely arrogant, and thinks she’s a lot better than everyone else. her current situation has humbled her a bit, but it’s also made her more short-tempered than before.

fabrice does not often divulge this truth, he was born to mortal and a faerie parent. his father holds a place of honour and distinction in the seelie queen’s court. his father has a reputation for having many lovers and is willing to have intercourse with many different people.

he did not spend much of his childhood in in the mundane world. he spent most of this time in the faerie. the seelie queen has a liking for fabrice’s father so she allowed him in court, without her permission he would have had to live in the mundane world with his mother. because of this, he grew up with stronger faerie qualities and aspects than many half-faeries. being half-faerie also gives him the ability to lie—something pure-blood fey are unable to do.

the time differential allows him to live longer than most humans. so much like his father, he took lovers. in the mid 18oos, he fell in love with an african-american mortal woman. she belonged to a slave master. fabrice bought her freedom. he told her she could go free. she decided to stay with him. together they had a daughter, nina. she was only one ¼ seelie. he enjoyed family life with her and their daughter nina. he watched both of them live and die.

this greatly disturbed him, he then decided he would nullify any emotional attachment to his lovers / sexual partners. he’s had quite a few flings over the years. he frequents his time between the mundane world and the court. in the past decade or so, he has received the favor of the seelie queen at the displeasure of meliorn. he remains her ally and she treats him well.
