I’m here. y’all, and I’ve brought the Lipton.

Pedowitz says there’s no future in a Supernatural spin-off. This is coming from the President of the CW network, the same network that, in the 2018-2019 TV season alone, has done the following:

1) Announced a Reboot of 90′s show Roswell, that no one to my knowledge asked for.

2) Began filming the Charmed reboot despite the cast of the original series slamming it for undermining their hard work.

3) The Vampire Diaries spin-off, Legacies, being green-lit instead of Wayward Sisters, before the former even had a script written for its pilot.

Meanwhile, Wayward Sisters has the support of fans, writers, show-runners, and cast, past and present. That’s more support than most of the shows the CW normally airs for three seasons.

Pedowitz then saying the show probably can’t live past Jared Padelacki and Jensen Ackles, is not only insulting to the people who campaigned for years to get the Wayward Sisters backdoor pilot made, but also an insult to Jared and Jensen, who wanted the spin-off just as much as we did. 

But, you know what, Pedowitz is more than happy to recycle safe content that’s network approved:

1) Cast of 20-somethings. One or two old-timers in their 30′s, but no ovary-bearing seniors in their 40′s.

2) It can be diverse, but there can’t be too many female characters with no love interests, or without a male authority figure in their lives.

3) It has to take place in a setting their viewer demographics can relate to, like a school. Or a bar. Or a club. Fun. Because, as we all know, once you’re too old to go clubbing, you’re life’s fucking over.

Anything outside of this gets a hard pass, apparently.
