Before Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce tied the knot, they kicked off their nuptials with an intimate rehearsal celebration.

The dinner, which brought together the couple’s family and friends on Thursday, July 2 in the Infosys Theater at Madison Square Garden, featured food from N.Y.C. Italian restaurant Sartiano’s, a source tells PEOPLE exclusively.

“They did a recreation of the menu from the restaurant for Taylor and Travis,” the source says.

“The rehearsal was very intimate, it felt small and like a mini wedding,” the insider continues of the evening. “There were speeches, there was so much love in the air.”

They add, “There were tasteful flowers around and the decor was romantic, but tasteful, it was much more scaled back and intimate than the wedding the next day.”

Per Sartiano’s website, the restaurant located in The Mercer hotel in SoHo focuses on the intersection of “timeless elegance” and “downtown energy,” with a menu featuring a range of Italian pastas, steaks and mains.

The menu includes a caviar section, along with crudo and tartare offerings and salad options.

The appetizers also include a house-made focaccia, served with whipped ricotta, a burrata dish, fritto misto with calamari and rock shrimp and more.

The menu has pastas ranging from Wagyu beef ragú fusilli to Maine lobster and Calabrian chili butter bucatini, along with various cuts of steak.

The restaurant’s mains also include a Dover sole and branzino, with sides like fingerling potatoes with truffle aioli and roasted carrots with pomegranate yogurt.

Swift and Kelce, both 36, are known for stepping out to N.Y.C. hotspots for date nights, and they are fans of the SoHo Italian spot. The pair were seen arriving hand-in-hand at the restaurant for a date night on Friday, May 22.

Another source tells PEOPLE the dinner was “very touching and intimate.”

There was an elephant on the front row at the Dior couture show Monday in Paris, sandwiched somewhere between Sabrina Carpenter and Ejae and looming over all the proceedings: the still-secret design of the Dior wedding dress Taylor Swift had worn a mere three days earlier.

Was it more classic — i.e., cliché — Dior, or the more current, somewhat challenging Dior? Was it princess-y? Prom-like? Kinda conceptual? Was it, in other words, more like the image that Swift has been presenting to the world, at least onstage, or more like the one that the newish designer Jonathan Anderson has been building for the brand?

At a preview earlier in the day it was all anyone was whispering about (Anderson ducked his head and declined to comment). Ditto in the fern-filled environs of the show space, an open pavilion in the gardens of the Musée Rodin. A spokesman for the brand promised all would be revealed — at some point, after Swift herself posts the first pictures on her Instagram. They just weren’t sure when that might be.

The show didn’t necessarily offer any clues. But it did demonstrate why Swift might have thought Dior was the right brand for her in the first place.

The pop star and the NFL player, both 36, were “beaming” all night during their celebration at New York City’s Madison Square Garden, which featured a “whimsical” secret garden theme, a source tells PEOPLE exclusively.

“A huge smile never left either of their faces,” the insider says, sharing that the “fun” ambience included “so many games,” a raffle and other “added excitement” to wow their guests.

“The whole evening felt very guest-centric,” the source says. “There was always something to do, see or play. There was never a dull moment.”

NBC News reported that the party featured a number of games that earned winners raffle tickets for prizes, including designer handbags and a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle — the same make and model of the convertible that Kelce drove off in with Swift after she attended her first Chiefs game in Kansas City, Mo., in September 2023, per the outlet.

As for the couple’s wedding venue, the iconic arena was dramatically transformed into a lush, enchanting garden setting for the nuptials on July 3. “It was so whimsical inside,” the insider tells PEOPLE. “After you walked through the peach area [upon entering], everything was transformed into a rose garden.”

The source also shares that after dinner, there were musical performances and the event “turned into a whole party.”

Another source previously told PEOPLE that part of the venue was transformed to look “like a forest” with ferns, trees and other flora, as well as arena seats covered in white.

During the ceremony, Swift “walked down the aisle to a stage where they said ‘I do,’ ” the insider revealed, noting that her and Kelce’s vows “were about 20 minutes each” and were read from gold books. The couple provided their guests with custom-embroidered handkerchiefs for any emotional moments throughout the night.

“You would think the bride would be the one crying more, but it was actually Travis that was more emotional,” one of the attendees said.
