Isaiah for one. The erasure of history was awful and it is completely understandable why Sam was so pissed about it- white people have been the ones writing the history books for so long and they often leave out other groups in doing so. Isaiah was locked up and experimented on- something that neither one for the other super soldiers we saw (Steve and Bucky) has to go through. In CAFA Steve was sorta given a choice to become a chorus girl or spend his time in a lab and he chose the former, but with Bucky (who was known to be an assassin (which wasn’t his fault)) nobody brought up the serum with him in any way shape or form- I mean the man had been through enough but it does show that the government was more willing to treat a black man like a lab rat.

Then there is the police scene. That is just blatant discrimination and racial profiling- and unlike Sam who got pissed Bucky didn’t seem to recognize what it was right away (further showing the ignorance many white peoples have towards issues like this.) And- while it could be argued that this was due to the fact Bucky was arrested for government BS- the cops were aggressive until they realized who Sam was, but when they had a warrant for Bucky they calmly spoke to him (and put him in normal handcuffs which idk if the cops were stupid but Bucky has a VIBRANIUM ARM that ain’t gonna do shit.)

Also, just imagine if Sam Wilson wasn’t recognized or if this happened to anyone else. Legit the only reason they stopped fucking being aggressive was because they recognized him as an Avenger. If not this could have played out some much worse.

Also, notice that John Walker has none of the true concerns of taking the shield. He doesn’t see it as a legacy or if he does, he believes he can uphold it. Unlike Sam who believes that he likely isn’t worthy of the shield or the backlash. I mean, that could be Walker just being a confident prick, but it also shows a sense of entitlement.

Bucky doesn’t see any of the issues or worries Sam has when it comes to the shield (and I love Bucky but-) which shows the ignorance he has towards the issues Sam faces (which makes sense to an extent because things have certainly gotten better since the 40s, so Bucky likely doesn’t think racism is as much of an issue since he never had to experience it.)

Heartfelt truth, I intended to create a bridge piece between Mermay and Pride Month by drawing a robust selection of cute PRIDE! mermayds. I actually finished the piece and it looked very good for a 2.5-hour midnight work meant to be a little celebrative kickstart.

However, my Corel is a ginormous satchel of the most rancid dicks money can afford, and periodically it will refuse to open the save window and allow me to save my progress. It particularly loves to do this when I’m relatively proud of a piece, it’s a relatively good piece of artwork, and I’ve forgotten to save at least once.

I tried my hardest. I tried regular save, Save As, even Iterative Saves. I condensed all the layers into one image and copied it about 10 times before cutting it to ensure it was copied. Defeated, I closed window. Save? Can’t do shit, so no. Convert to clipboard? Yes, please. ERROR: Could not convert to clipboard. 2.5 hours’ progress, completely lost. I’m getting sick and fucking tired of it and this new software has done nothing but continue to disappoint me. The gotdamned LITE version was more reliable than this. And I’m not the only one having problems with Corel Painter, either.
