Being invited to Ashton’s house party for @irwlns

“So serious!” You chuckle as you snake your arms around his waist and rest your head on his shoulder.

Ashton’s focus is immediately broken and he smiles widely. “I’m just trying to decide if I like this one or not... what do you think?”

You follow his gaze and study the painting for a moment. It’s a pretty landscape and it kinda reminds you of the park you’d visited on the first day of this trip. “I think it’s nice.” You reply thoughtfully.

“Nice?” Ashton giggles, kissing the top of your head. “That’s not a convincing argument.”

You shrug, loving the butterflies you still get at these sweet little gestures. You back up a little and lift his arm so that you can duck under it. “I mean it’s pretty, but there’s one I like more over there.” You point to the corner of the room where’d you’d been wandering a few moments earlier.

Ashton hugs you into his side lovingly. “You wanna show me?”

You nod before pulling him in the right direction. As you get closer to the wall you had been pointing at, Ashton smiles softly, his eyes immediately finding the painting you’d been admiring. “This one?” He asks, stopping in front of the canvas. It’s a beautiful painting of the city you’re in right now.

You confirm it’s the correct one by making a quiet ‘mhm’ sound. Not that you really needed to, Ashton knows you so well by now; of course he’d picked out the right painting so quickly.

Ashton looks kind of dreamy as he studies it carefully. “You’re right.” He grins, “this one is nicer.”

The two of you stand in silence for a moment, enjoying the silence of the art gallery and the beauty of the painting in front of you as well as each other’s company of course.

After a few moments Ashton squeezes your arm lightly as an indication that’s it time to get moving. “C’mon, babe.” He smiles, “let’s go see if they have a print of this in the gift shop.”
