Rotting Parasite.
Sometimes, deep inside me, here is something that I swear I can feel rotting, yet it also writhes as if it wants to prove that it isn't dead, repeatedly it shoots pain up my body, like the tight grip of a vengeful parasite wanting to make its host bend to its will.
But I don't wish for it to leave. I spend more time worried when it doesn't appear, worried that I am defective. I am too young to not feel this pain, yet there are long stretches of time where the parasite sits quietly and starves itself, feeding off of my worry of my functionality and waiting to strike. And when it finally comes I curl into a ball and softly hope that it'll come back sooner, as a sign that I am like every other, a sign that I am functional, a sign that I can one day let that parasite leave my body and curl into my arms, yet my mind reminds me of the fact that I will likely never be able to let my parasite out, that instead it shall slowly continue to rot, until it finally dies out, and I am left mourning something I was never able to create.
But perhaps, One day, I'll be wrong, I hope that one day I can hold the parasite that is in me, any form it takes, and if not my parasite, any creature that wants to be given the love I wish to have gifted my parasite.

This creative writing piece is about the fear of infertility due to irregular periods, I understand that topic might be uncomfortable to some, but I wrote this a while ago and let it gather dust in my drafts because I didn't want to upset any one.
Now I am less afraid of that, And I hope that maybe this writing piece makes some feel less alone about irregular periods, because they aren't alone, and they don't deserve to feel alone <3
