WHAT A DANGEROUS GAME THEY PLAY . More-so for him , after all he was pretending to marry the alien assassin assigned to kill him --------- but as time passed & she found herself less willing to carry out her task , focused more on spending time with him she realised ; IT’S THE MOST DANGER SHE’S EVER BEEN IN .
It’s stupid of her to leave her heart exposed like this , it’s bad in any normal situation & worse now . TONY STARK IS THE LAST PERSON IN THE WORLD SHE SHOULD BE WITH ; yet that’s exactly what she agreed to . While it was meant to just be an arrangement & perhaps an advantage in her task , as she looks at him now with far too much affection , a genuine smile tugging at her lips , all these concerns were buried at the back of her mind .
Pushing onto her toes she rolls her eyes at him , pulling him down by their entwined hands , other hand raised so thumb & forefinger can grip his chin , guiding him toward her . That act in itself makes the camera clicks & flashes go into a frenzy ; she finds it amusing that they are under such scrutiny like this & they haven’t been found out . ( maybe it’s because there’s nothing to find out anymore ) regardless she proceeds as if they are alone , voice quiet enough for only him to hear . ❛ Only in your wildest dreams , tin-man ❜ UNSPOKEN : IN HER WILDEST DREAMS TOO . She closes the pitifully tiny space between them , first brushing her lips against his & then kissing him properly , drawing it out a moment longer than socially acceptable ( as if that would ever stop her . ) ❛ So what do you think ? Ever since she showed up to the flight in all her glowing glory he hasn’t stopped staring & that was bad enough for her nerves . He knows her true nature now , what if that was enough to send him away ?
It turns out that her worries were all for nothing because he hadn’t shut up ever since the last of the invaders had been defeated . As endearing as the questions & statements were in the beginning ( & reassuring ) she couldn’t exactly answer or speak at all if they were being rapid fired at her . She gives up speaking over him & pushes off her toes , now floating before , taking him by the shoulders & pressing a kiss to his lips , smiling as he immediately falls silent , kissing him until they are both a little out of breath . She pulls away with a lopsided grin , fingers finding their way under his chin , tilting it up ever so slightly so she can look into his eyes with a fondness reserved only for him . ❛ ——- Now , I would love to answer your questions . & just like that : the dead returned to life , before her eyes . Eccentric as ever when he meanders in her direction . It shocks her that what she feels isn’t the usual annoyance , but relief & happiness . News of his demise had made her realise just how much she took what little trust she held in him for granted ( it is far more than she holds for anyone else here ) that’s why she’s meeting him outside the building . He had to come with her , hear the truth before any twisted words swayed him . Holding out a hand to him she puts on a restrained smile , unable to be completely professional , no matter how hard she tried .
