The Coming Age Spring/Easter 1979
Some "Genia" are mentioned in the intro, particularly Nike being associated with Mars & Tuesday and Metis being associated with Mercury & Wednesday. These, of course, were the Tellurifications of the Janyati. Irkalla and her 7 inverse-Genia daughters (who guard the 7 gates of Hell!) are mentioned, but of course not named. I am so intrigued by the unnamed reverse Janyati. I wonder if this is incredibly secret knowledge, or if the names are so secret they dare not even be thought of, so essentially no one even knows their names. Again, I am incredibly intrigued by this!
In the "Work in Progress" section it is mentioned that Sister Angelina gave a second interview to Radio Oxford in Brighde and that a copy of the interview was published in the Oxford Journal. I wonder if this is the Bryony Evans interview that the Filianic Studies site has archived. Brighde is late Jan into Feb, so this would be immediately before this issue in Jan/Feb 1979.
Another mention, in the same section, is the "Re-emergence of the Goddess" conference that Sister Angelina spoke at. It was apparently hosted by Geoffrey Ashe, who wrote a book with that same title . Sister Angelina's speech (or one of them) is archived here. The notes of which mention the conference was held in 1979, so I didn't get the dates all wrong, there was just an incorrect date written on the previous issue's cover.
"The Darkest Hour" mentions we are approaching the end of an age, and laments modern life. Very reminiscent of Aristasian beliefs. This age is called both "Kali-Yuga" and "The Age of Iron" in this article, which are phrases the Aristasians also used, but also "The age of Irkalla". I do wonder why all talk of Irkalla was stripped from Aristasia? They certainly spoke a lot about The Forces of Darkness.
"Tales From Eternity" is just your typical Pit Crit article, complaining about something this group loves to do themselves. This one is complaining about, of all things, fictional stories. Apparently modern fiction is bad, and fairy tales are good. This is just such a typical Aristasian mindset of doing backflips to make something that isn't what they're doing bad, and what they ARE doing good. It's just obnoxious, and I'm sure I'm oversimplifying the article, but it's definitely the type of article they would write that just makes me frustrated.
