what is iridovirus?
Iridovirus is a family of viruses that affects numerous species of arthropods
The one that affects isopods is known as Invertebrate Iridescent Virus 31, or isopod iridovirus.
An isopod symptomatic of iridovirus will appear very shiny and iridescent blue. It is fatal. I don’t know much about it other than that, I’m not really sure how it spreads or anything.
From the Wikipedia page of iridovirus: an infected Armadillidium vulgare, next to a number of healthy individuals. It’s really easy to see the blue color next to the healthy ones.

good ending: the jump from plaga to leon leads to the cure for iridoviruses at the cost of his mental health (his coworkers keep calling him a "smurf" and "those alien guys from that avatar movie" and rarely a gay vampire) (he's completely fine otherwise and immune to the deadly parts of the infection)
it only jumped the species barrier because leon got that bug in him.
