picking things back up with @lookitsohio
âMe?â It takes Lincoln a few seconds to process anything once the stranger finishes his last sentence, not having expected to see the very âWesternâ face that he did once the door opened; he was told ( by a mutual friend ) that someone would be stopping by, but nothing past that. âUh.. Oh, yeah! Me. Right. That person is me.â He mentally kicked himself for tripping up so badly and ultimately just rubbed a hand over his face as he willed the embarrassment away with some muttering. âYeah, whatever, sheâs over here..â
The male was going purely off a recommendation from someone else that he wasnât letting a serial killer in, so admittedly he was a bit jittery, and couldnât help but stare a little. âSo, sheâs been really.. depressed, or something. I feel like sheâs been moping around more than anything.â After letting.. fuck, he couldnât remember the guyâs name. After letting in the person and closing the door behind him, Lincoln walked over to the living room to pick up the very inactive tortoiseshell. âI mean, I know cats are pretty calm, but sheâs been.. I donât know, different? I just feel like somethingâs wrong, especially since sheâs not eating as much. Does any of that make sense?â
A better question would be: Do you really know as much about animals as Christian says you do, because I donât want to have let some stranger into my apartment for no reason.
The awkwardness was easy to pick up and it was understandable why. Apparently they were skipping introductions, but Nico went along with it for the sake of the issue. âHow long has she been acting like that?â Conclusions were already being made based off the basic information: those would have to wait until he asked more questions.
âLet me see her.â He took the liberty of carefully taking the cat away to look her over.
Nico wasnât a vet by any means, but he had knew all about smaller issues and the things to look out for to recommend pet owners to the professionals. Right now the cat had dug her claws into his sweatshirt and was eyeing one of the hoodie strings: more playful now that there was activity. To be safe, he leaned his head away as he checked her ears.
âHow often do you play with her?â
Eyes trailed back to the owner and it was more obvious now that names were never exchanged. âSorry. Kind of took over.â He gave a friendly smile and nodded. âIâm Nico by the way. Iâve heard a lot about you already, so you donât have to be weird or awkward.â
