New Years Goals (not resolutions)
I hate the term New Years resolutions because it’s just a term that sets you up for failure. However, I do have a few goals that I hope to accomplish this year.
I want to graduate college in the best shape of my life and not care what the scale says.
I want to drink less soda, eat less processed shit, and work on my physical fitness and endurance.
I want to dress up more. Curl my hair, put on lipstick, wear heels. I love my sweats and Uggs, but it's time for a more professional look.
I want to learn to cook. I've learned a few recipes and discovered I'm not bad! I want to get several staple entrees under my belt and stop eating shit from drive thrus all the time.
I want to graduate Summa Cum Laude (with highest honors). I've been working my ass off to keep my GPA over 3.9 for the last 5 years. Yes, 5. So far, I'm on the right track.
I want to become an anchor for MTSU's MT10 News channel. I was a reporter last semester, but would like some more practice on the desk.
I want to accept a job offer in my field this year. I've done internships, extra curriculars, and kept a high GPA in hopes of landing my dream job. Failure is not an option.
I NEED to travel. I've not been on a vacation in forever. I need to cross the state line. May even try to figure out something in Europe. Hello senior trip?!
I want to get Chris Clark (my News 3 professor this Spring) to fall in love with my work. He's a tough critic, and I know if I impress him, I'm doing something right!
I got an internship with St. Jude's Radio Development Office this Spring and I want to ROCK IT. I've interned at The Bobby Bones Show for the last year, and I want to be just as much of a team player for St. Jude.
I know this is a long list and I could probably add a lot more to it, but I just want to be my best self this year. It'll be difficult. Like always, I'll be juggling a lot of work with little down time, but graduation is in just a few months and I need to set my self apart from the competition.
Here's to 2015!
