Jedi June 2026
A creative fandom event dedicated to appreciating the Jedi, taking place during the entire month of June! Each week will feature two prompts, around which people can create fanwork (of any kind – fic, art, cosplay, edits, anything you can think of) or meta focusing on the Jedi and the Jedi Order. All eras and continuities are welcome; OCs, established characters, doesn’t matter – it just needs to be about appreciating the Jedi!
Rules:
If you are participating, please tag your work/meta with #jedi june and/or @ this blog so that I will see it and reblog it here. All work must be your own. Feel free to crosspost it off-site.
This is an appreciation event, focusing on what we love and enjoy about the Jedi – not what we don’t. This is not the place to air your grievances with the Code, take potshots at the Council, prop certain Jedi/certain eras of Jedi up at the expense of others, or disparage the Jedi Order or their philosophy (including the concept of non-attachment) and way of life in any way. You are free to do that on your own time if that’s your thing, but it has no place within this event.
AUs and crossovers are allowed, with caveats: again, the purpose of this event is to appreciate the Jedi as Jedi, so sticking your favorite Jedi characters in something like a modern AU or making them all Sith or Mandalorian is not really within the spirit of this event. However, AUs such as making a non-Jedi character a Jedi, having a character survive their canon death, giving a character a different teacher or padawan, or killing Palpatine off-screen in an unspecified yet embarrassing and painful manner, would all be perfectly fine. Use your best judgement to determine whether an AU fits the spirit of the event or not.
On non-attachment: in a general sense, attachment refers to grasping, clinging, possessiveness, jealousy, and the "I can't live without you"/"I will burn down the galaxy before I risk losing you" attitude. See this post and this post for more information. A romance can certainly exist without these things, so you can certainly write Jedi in relationships for this event!
Please tag any spoilers up to two weeks after the relevant content has aired.
Following the prompts is encouraged, but not required. Any sort of pro-Jedi content is encouraged all year month long, and if tagged (and following the rules), will be reblogged.
We also have an AO3 collection!
Prompts:
Week 1 (June 1 - 7):
Prompt 1: Resilience
Prompt 2: A Choice Not Taken
Week 2 (June 8 - 14):
Prompt 1: Compassion
Prompt 2: The Jedi Code
Week 3 (June 15 - 21):

Prompt 2: Life, Death, and The Force
Week 4 (June 22 - 30):

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask! I hope you will have fun participating!

Attachment vs love, Jedi morals and choice in Star Wars
The amount of people who are presumably ‘fans’ of SW, but a) don’t know SW definition of ‘attachment’ b) don’t know SW definition of ‘balance’ – is astounding. They don’t care about actually learning what SW themes are (Read some Lucas quotes, damn it! It’s not some hidden knowledge.), but quick to jump on pro-Jedi fans to slaughter their views and ‘prove you’re wrong, the Jedi are actually bad’. The ‘Acolyte’ series really doesn’t help! Just – why??? Why do people don’t learn material before engaging in conversations! Even when said material is given freely – read and learn, if you don’t know about Lucas’s definition of ‘attachment’ and ‘balance’! But nooooo, we won’t learn! Won’t even try! There’re whole archives of Lucas’s quotes and analyses of SW, right here, on Tumblr – why not have a look?
And with all this lack of studying we have stupidity like ‘Luke’s attachment saved everyone’ or ‘Jedi were flawed with their morality’ or ‘Jedi didn’t give therapy to Anakin’. I’ll explain once again (I’m far from the first to say it):
1.Luke save everyone with LOVE, and Anakin damned everyone with ATTACHMENT.
2. Jedi morality is right in SW world. They may make mistakes as individuals, but their morals are correct in GFFA. They don’t go enslaving planets and killing babies like Sith, who ARE bad guys.
3. Jedi philosophy is actually therapy exactly for Anakin’s case. Too bad he didn’t want to respond to this therapy – because one of main ideas of SW (as made up by Lucas, everyone agrees he knows better) is CHOICE. Both Anakin and Luke made their respective CHOICES. They knew what was bad and what was good. And both made their own CHOICES. (Any anyway, Prequel SW are movies for KIDS from late 1990s – early 2000s. No one showed therapy as we understand in now in 2020s, in such movies back in those days.)
So, if you’re in good faith and you just lack info, go @david-talks-sw, @smhalltheurlsaretaken – you’ll find everything about Jedi, attachment, etc. If in bad faith – still go read, this may challenge your views.
A Rainy Day- #JediJune Week 1
Thunderstorms on Coruscant were not unheard of, but for some it was still a hard thing to get used to. In the room of a Thousand Fountains a youngling was hudded underneath a large-leafed plant trying to focus on the pink and cream colored stones underneath them. However, a bright flash emerged from the darkened windows causing them to start and then cup their hands over their ears as a rumble of thunder echoed throughout the Jedi temple halls. Anara Dene pouted as the rain continued to pour, another flash soon following. And the thunder rumbling again- shattering whatever peace the gardens had. Anara tried to breathe, they tried to focus on their past lessons. Master El-Niram often said that when you were afraid, meditating was a good thing to do. To focus on the Force and how it flowed through all the living things. But how was someone supposed to concentrate when the sky kept making so much noise? Wiping their eyes the youngling wondered when the storm would pass, only hoping that it would be soon. At the latest lightning flash, the little youngling squeezed their eyes shut- only to feel a warmth through the Force. One that made them relax slightly as they felt a little bit better.
“Mmm, lost you are, young one?” came an old, croaky voice. Little eyes opened, and Anara was surprised to see none other than Master Yoda staring back at them.
“Master Yoda! Uh…no! I’m just-“ their words cut off in a little yelp as another roll of thunder sounded, this time slightly rattling the windows of the room.
“Ah…enjoying the storm!” Yoda said with a small smile, his head bobbing in an approving nod. A hand reached out pointing to a spot beside the youngling, “Sit with you, may I?”
Anara gave a quizzical look at the Jedi Master. Of course, everyone knew Master Yoda- it was Yoda after all! But “enjoying” was a word that they would definitely not have chosen. Still, they nodded and scooted over, as Yoda moved to sit under the plant. The large green leaves swayed gently. And the sound of rain filled the gap between the conversation as Yoda settled in.
“Ah…so good rain is. Necessary for all living things here. Yes.” He hummed, looking out into the gardens. Anara followed his line of sight out at the greenery, and the winding river and fountains that filled the place. And their thoughts wandered to other planets they read about, and of course their home here on this planet. The rain’s sounds began to become softer. Still- there was the slight worry about the next rumble and when it would come.
“Does it have to be so loud though?” Anara asked with a nervous sigh.
“No.” Yoda’s short answer came without any hesitation, calm as ever as another rumble of thunder sounded, Yoda’s small hand came up to pat the youngling’s head.
“But alone, you do not have to be. Fear not.”
=========================
A/N my first oneshot for Jedi June. We will see how many I do. BUT was fun to write. Thanks @jedi-order-apologist for posting about #jedijune. The prompt I chose was comfort. One thing I love about the Jedi is how everyone cares for each other. How they are all family.
