Ahhh, let’s be happy shippers together, anon ; w ;!! They were my first ship in Awakening, and I’ve loved them ever since! I don’t know of any fics other than the few that can be found on ao3 (SOBS COME ON PEOPLE THEY’RE A REALLY CUTE PAIR) but I have a short nsfw thing I wrote a while back that I m…ight post, if I’m brave enough ;w; ;;;; For now, have some more HCs! + an older doodle!

I think they both very quickly realize that they both very VISUALLY appealing to each other - maybe that’s one of the reasons why Frederick is so suspicious of Robin in the beginning? Because he can tell Chrom is immediately very intrigued by their new companion, haha!

I think it takes a little while before they realize they’re in LOVE love. Rather than it being a sudden and intense feeling of love, I’m inclined to think that the feeling grows slowly and steadily into something so powerful that all the Shepherds can see it. Towns are attacked and burned, Maribelle kidnapped, Lucina appears - there’s just no time for them to actually try to figure out exactly how they feel or how to act on it. Even so, it’s obvious in their actions. Chrom trusts Robin with his life - and he lives of his sisters, and the Shepherds.

And then Emmeryn is kidnapped – and dies.

I think, when Chrom loses one of the great loves of his live he finally acts on his feelings, needing something else to fill the void she left behind. He knows that Robin is the only one who can make him feel better - and he’s right. Robin makes it bearable ;w;

The fact that all the Shepherds seem to ignore that Robin is dressed like a Plegian is…very hard to explain. IF the coat didn’t have the six eyes of Grima on its sleeves, it would be easier to understand, but it obviously does! The only explanation I can think of - and this is me reaching - is that Chrom, Lissa and Frederick do know that Robin is from Plegia from the very start. If that is the case, it could simply mean that they’ve been taught by Emmeryn not to judge Plegians (Since it’s canon that their father waged a pretty terrible war on Plegia, and Emmeryn has been trying to repair Ylisse’s relationship with Plegia).

I do think Plegians have their own language, and that Robin is bilingual. There’s also the possibility that Robin’s mother was from Ylisse and that’s why the in-game Robin is as pale as Chrom is, despite Validar having very dark skin. IF Robin’s mother is Plegian and his pale skin the result of some genetic malfunction/genetic throwback it’s still very likely that he’d be taught different languages along with all those battle tactics - understanding the enemy is important!

As for a backlash from their subjects; I’m certain there would be. The war between Ylisse and Plegia was pretty devastating, with a lot of losses on both sides. Not to mention that Gangrel was the one who caused Emmeryn’s death.  How great the backlash is would largely depend on what Robin chooses to do - does he take the throne, or does he leave it to someone else? Either way, Robin has a lot to prove to those who dismiss his sacrifice as propaganda - and that’s just on the Ylissan side!

Ahhh, I have so many >///<! I’ll type out a few:

- Lon'qu is initially drawn to Vaike because he reminds him a little of Basilio.

- Lon'qu’s matter-of-fact personality doesn’t discourage Vaike, and Vaike’s boastful nature stops grating on Lon'qu when he realizes that Vaike is using it to cover up the fact that he’s pretty insecure.

- Vaike stops speaking in third person when he’s alone with Lon’qu, and he doesn’t even realize it.

- They both have a slightly unhealthy survival mentality when it comes to food, from their days as slum kids. They eat as much as possible, as fast as possible. They’ve finished their meals before the other Shepherds. If one doesn’t have time to eat, the other will always bring them food.

- Before they’re together, together, Vaike gives Lon'qu so many mixed signals (he doesn’t mean to!) that it almost drives Lon'qu nuts. Vaike is a naturally friendly and haptic/tactile - to the point where some people feel like he’s invasive - and Lon'qu is often left questioning whether Vaike scooting over in his sleep for a cuddle means he’s feeling amorous or just cold. He says “Haha, I love you, man” a dozen times before they’ve even hugged.

- They end up recruiting (read: Semi-adopts) a bunch of slum kids into the Feroxi army from all over Ylisse (Three square meals per day, a bed and a roof over their head) and mentoring them.
