Can someone tell me what actually counts as spam on Instagram? I got a VERY much non-spam comment taken down and now I can't comment.

Hey, @instagram could you please get your priorities straight? Either all nipples or no nipples, please :) I just wanted to share a piece from a museum (which is a public space irl and people get to see it irl) on your (equally public) platform :) my account is even private, and I swear I don't share porn :)
Also, I assure you, none of my followers would bat an eye on seeing this picture :)

Instagram has released certain new guidelines for its users which figures certain ways in which brands and marketers can use the various tools provided by the platform and can still connect with their users and...
I recently wrote about natural skincare products I use on a daily basis to keep my adult acne at bay. That has now been updated. Here’s the thing, I would not be able to sleep at night knowing the night serum I applied is from a company that promotes drug use, crude and manic behavior and ultimately cyber bullying. For those who aren’t familiar, Deciem is an “abnormal beauty company”, known for their affordable, natural collection of skincare and beauty products… soon to be overshadowed by their toxic social media presence. The company has mastered the perfect formula for affordable products, I’ll give them that, but their Instagram is a recipe for disaster.
Before I dive in here I would like to mention that I’ve never written an article bashing a brand and I’m not about to. I am simply stating the facts and highlighting the hate and negativity the CEO of Deciem is partaking in and stirring up himself. It has made my blood boil and I am confident I’m not the only one getting heated. Others has expressed their concern for the CEO’s mental state and desire for content that is relevant to the brand itself.
Deciem’s Instagram looks like it’s been managed by both Kanye West and Donald Trump. The needless provoking posts, curated by the CEO, are offensive and quite frankly disappointing. I will not be mentioning this CEO’s name because 1. I never mention names when I’m writing about someone I am less than fond of and 2. He doesn’t deserve a shout-out. It’s like the feeling of when you were younger and so disgusted with an ex that you and your friends had to give him a different name when speaking about him. Let’s do that, let’s call him Mr. Cyber Bully.
So here we go. I’m breaking down for you why I am outraged by Mr. Cyber Bully and Deciem’s Instagram account.
THEY SAY YOU ARE WHO YOU SURROUND YOURSELF WITH If this is the type of man behind the brand, what kind of people are hired to represent him and the company? If he’s on drugs (his words not mine) is the team who is producing and promoting the products on drugs as well? Mr. Cyber Bully posted a selfie, among many, on Deciem’s Instagram account to which he says that Botox and drugs have helped him get clear, ageless skin. He gave zero credit to his products. While I appreciate authenticity, this was seemingly narcissistic behavior, a man who thought his comment was cute and funny. Such a claim shouldn’t have been shared on the brand’s social media. It hurts to know that he doesn’t care about the young girls who are following this Instagram account for skincare inspiration. Instead, they see a comment made by Deciem’s “leader” that drugs and Botox is really what he credits for his ageless skin. How dare you Mr. Cyber Bully!
SPEAKING OF “LEADERS”… Now more than ever we need people of power who aren’t self-destructive. We need to see entrepreneurs and CEO’s with a strong work ethic and passion for what they’re putting out in this world. This maniacal leader is spouting hate, misinformation and confusion around topics unrelated to the products. How are we supposed to trust a company that’s run by a man, possibly a team, with such inappropriate marketing tactics? Where is the professionalism?
LACK OF BRAND PRESENCE AND VALUABLE CONTENT In less than a week the brand lost 10k Instagram followers. That should speak volume to the damage that’s been done already. When others express their concern the CEO is quick to clap back. He replies to every negative comment with a more harsh response yet he ignores those who ask him to share something of value like education and information about the assortment of skincare products. The Instagram is practically spammed with multiple selfies and videos of Mr. Cyber Bully… and milk bottle emojis to which I will never understand.
WHERE ARE YOU INSTAGRAM? Since earlier this year Deciem’s Instagram account went from strange to concerning. Yes, this has been going on for months. Mr. Cyber Bully is showing a stronger appetite for confrontation and conflict than for his own company. You can find media outlets such as, The Cut, Racked and Daily Mail reporting all the chaos. Instagram has yet to step in.
According to Instagram’s guidelines, the platform doesn’t stand for hateful comments and content, yet Mr. Cyber Bully has called people a dumb fuck, full of shit, mindful idiots and pig morons. Instagram claims, “We want to foster a positive, diverse community. We remove content that contains credible threats or hate speech, content that targets private individuals to degrade or shame them, personal information meant to blackmail or harass someone, and repeated unwanted messages.“
So Instagram, how is it that this man’s platform and/or content has not been removed? How is this tolerated? WHY it is that if a woman shares a harmless photo of her breasts for creative expression she loses her platform, whereas this man is exploiting hate on both his posts and stories and there are zero consequences? I would like answers. I would like someone to make sense of this.
Until then, I took various screenshots of the brands Instagram stories, to which he is bragging about his offensive replies to his followers, as well as his replies on his feed. If it’s hard for you to read, I ask you to share this and speak up too.
With love and concern, Dayna
