Andorian
Small, stocky Andorians are among the most commonplace species within the federation. Much like notothenioid fish, their blood contains antifreeze proteins, something that allowed their prehistoric ancestors to survive harsh winters by hibernating inside seasonal ice. However, most modern groups refrain from hibernating.
Anatomically, their ‘head’ is basically a semi-mobile eye stalk with antennae attached. The brain case is in the chest, a part of the same bone as the lower jaw of their beak. Their four eyes can move independently from each other, and each individual eye has a teardrop shaped pseudopupil.
The shaggy white fur growing along their legs and torso has two coats. A translucent, guard coat of long, hollow hairs, and a woolly white undercoat.
