but what would have been the BIGGEST victory for ino over sakura in matters of romance? not if she had gotten sasuke instead. i don’t even think it’s anything that could be said about the fact that ino’s husband is around more often than sakura’s.

i think the biggest victory for ino over sakura would have been if she ended up with rock lee. she’d have a devoted and supportive husband, happy marriage, an adorable kid (with a little blonde bowl cut until the time skip when they have a grown out ponytail), on top of her great job and friends. everything she has now, but also everything sakura very much could have had if she hadn’t had tunnel vision on sasuke. lee was down bad for sakura from day one. he wanted to dote and give all kinds of love and attention, which sakura rejected, but also which ino openly wanted all along. (not from him, but there’s always room for character development.)

There's a little patch of dirt no one uses outside of the Jonin apartments that Lee gets permission to use. Immediately he starts growing some nice fruits and vegetables. Lettuce, strawberries, raspberries. Anything he thinks would be useful and would make for a nice addition to meals. The first time he has the chance to pick some of the vegetables and make them into a meal, he decides to cook Ino a nice lunch for their break at the flower shop.

She's touched by the gesture, and the meal is delicious. Lee really proves himself to be great at growing some spectacular vegetables and as a great cook. She especially enjoys the fruit salad he brought for dessert. It's just sweet enough without being overpowering.

there will definitely be repeat lunch hours like this. Lee is ecstatic to know that Ino enjoys his cooking and when she asks him if he would show her his garden one day he's more than happy to. It ends up being their first official date together, and Ino can't believe the amount of work he has put in to making what was once such an empty baron space a beautiful garden.

I heard someone say Lee having a very amazing green thumb, and ends up using that skill for good. Plants hard to grow flowers, and months later, first try has beautifully healthy, blooming flowers.

Lee applies for a job at Ino's flower shop, and end up bonding over plants. Lee's prized possession plant is a 8 foot tall sunflower named " Gai-sama " because

Ok this is a cute Idea. Ino's a little overwhelmed by Lee's energy at first, but he's a hard worker and loves to learn. The two of them can spend hours just chatting about flowers.

well, Ino's chatting and Lee is listening intently to every word she has to say. By the end of their shift, they have spent the entire time chatting. Ino never realized how easy it was to talk to Lee until they started working at the flower shop together.
