THANK YOU for dropping a fun little ask, my dear Eva! One that didn't have me wondering how creative I should be... just straight up fangirling on foods and eats! π
π₯ I love french fries! Speficially, I love a more thickly-cut fry.
πΏ Might be basic, but I love basil. It's also one I know how to incorporate very well/into many things.
π I very much love raspberries, but I've been PARTICULARLY partial to peaches the last year or so. But it goes back and forth between the two for my favorite.
π₯ I'm an absolute spoon gremlin now! I've taken to eating chopped/spoon salads or structured bowls (burrito bowls, power bowls, nourish bowls, etc) because they're more spoon friendly. I want ease and comfort.
π₯ͺ Cheese is my favorite sandwich filling. Straight up cheese or _____ and cheese. I just love cheese.
π§Salt and vinegar chips - which I actually used to HATE until five years ago, but now they're my ultimate fave. A close second would be sour cream and onion or paprika or cheese.
π« Carian's or BeeMax's Dubai Chocolate bars - particularly in dark chocolate. I don't care that it's viral/trendy. I love this trend.
π₯© So a roast in the US I know is very different from other roast dinners, so I'm just giving you mine that we grew up with. OUR traditional Sunday roast was/is a beef chuck roast or rump roast put in a crock pot with salt and pepper, a hearty amount of worcestershire sauce, a bay leaf or two, with a whole onion quartered and chopped carrots put on to cook for a few hours. Accompaniments include fluffy white dinner rolls with pillowy insides served with butter and jam if you wish and mashed potatoes. Sometimes/usually my mom would make gravy from the drippings of the meat, but I kind of prefer to just drizzle the broth over the potatoes. My dad would also just take a roll after and sop up the beef dripping juices.
π Best pasta? Shape? Possibly cavatappi or a bucatini or farfalle. And lately I'm back and forth between cacio e pepe or a really well done/indulgent creamy alfredo.
π₯ I love eggs, so I've learned to cook them in about a half dozen or so ways that I love. But ABSOLUTE favorite egg? Perfectly executed eggs benedict OR a deviled egg.
π½οΈ My grandma used to make "cheesy squash." It was nothing complex, just sliced up yellow crookneck/summer squash that my grandparents grew in their garden that she'd pan fry and then throw shredded cheddar cheese over the top just at the end to get melty and good before serving. But my mom and both my grandmas were excellent cooks, so I have a LOT of favorite meals/dishes that I loved growing up.
