Midnight, October 9 2024, I woke abruptly from a dream where I had made the best song Iโd ever heard, and sleepily recorded the melody into my phone. Months later, when I was preparing my singles for the Fabric Presents album, I finally found a place for that melody - in a simple, chord-driven club demo. When I got the five-syllable phrase โre-animate meโ, it was all over, and the track was done within a week. At the time of writing the lyrics, Iโd definitely been going too deep and taking things a bit too seriously, so the song came from that; the desire to wake up and smell the roses and appreciate the good (and beautiful) parts of life.
