So I did a bit (lot) of reading around all the ink blogs. So... Is the time limit placed on the blue Inks a way to test their strength of will? To see if they have what it takes to claim the lives they were given as their own?
( u3u) Thereās a few reasons the InklixirĀ only lasts a month.Ā ( o3o) The first, if it lasted longer itād start doing some serious damage to the humans or monsters within them. The longer someone has been in that sort of trance, the harder it gets to wake them up. Among other details that arenāt necessary to get into. Obviously, if we started permanently taking over humans and monsters thatād be a problem. We donāt really need more reasons for the rest of the world to want to try to destroy us.( u3u) As with the case of Observer... I donāt really know where those vials are going once I send them out into the world. And I donāt have a whole lot of control over it either.Ā
( i3i) I can only hope they find a good home and are loved, like Delirium. Or even if things donāt start out so great, things can change and before their time is up those around them learn to love them, like Hysteria. But I wonāt pretend I donāt know there are those who would misuse naive inklings and maybe even abuse them. In times like that their death may even save them from a bad situation that they might not otherwise escape. So long as theyāve found a way to survive, and are determined enough to accomplish that.
( -3-) Not all do. Itās sort of a right of passage, or so Iāve heard it called.Ā
//Mun note: It was added as a way for muns to get their main muses back after turning them a shade of blue. For those who didnāt want permanent muses and just wanted to play with it as an M!A, it is a way within plot to maintain continuity easily. And if they wanted to keep them? Their ink muse would survive. It also does make an interesting morsel of plot, not knowing if the muse will survive or not, especially when their existenceĀ when done right is an obstacle that keeps the main muse away- I have seen a few followers NOT want the inks to live and want the main muses back. Made me a little sad really, but Iām biased.
Can inks drink anything?
( ^3^) Yeah! The specifics depend on the ink type, to be sure nothing messes with their composition. But for Blue shades, they can drink water for sure, and I think theĀ @besmirched can too. Shades of grey, or inks made of Gravestone ink canāt though- at least it doesnāt work very well, since theyāre an oil based ink. Oil and water donāt mix! But shades of grey could drinkĀ linseed oil, soybean oil, or petroleum no problem.
( u3u) While shades of grey do fine with rain and even wading through water, they have quite a problem with fire.Ā ( o3o) As far as fancier stuff goes? Well the shades can drink or eat pretty much any monster food, as that stuff turns directly into energy when you swallow it. So thereās no worry about foreign contaminants mixing with our composition.
( u3u) Human food and drinks can be dangerous though, as itās full of lots of stuff that would just get shoved into our ink and mix with it, and can make us sick or even kill us if itās bad enough. Human food doesnāt give us energy, it might taste good? But itād just be a toxin in our ink that weād eject.
( n3n) Iāve been working on a new item to help with that though! Hopefully itāll be ready soon!
Would you suppose your species is a natural or unnatural one ? Do you think or know whether you could have started out and naturally evolved to the species you are known as today, or would you say that you are created from more scientific or malicious beginnings ?
( Ƶ3Ć“) ...( u3o) What is natural? I suppose you start to get into belief systems there. Did other life start as chemicals that were randomly created by chance? Was there a greater being, perhaps a deity or an other worldly being that created life and left it to go as it would?Ā ( 030) Say a deity created a rabbit with the wave of their hand. Would that rabbit be considered unnatural? I think not.( u3u) We were not made by random chaos. Our composition was carefully planned out and made in connection to a god. Sort of like that rabbit I just mentioned. So what would that make us?( 030) As a wise rat once said,Ā āDo not confuse the specter of your origin... with your present worthā. As far back as I can Ā remember, the beings that made up Gravestone made inks. Were they the first? Does that make our origins malicious? Maybe but...Ā ( u3u) Another thing I remember is that person didnāt start out as the most powerful god. They learned from the others... before they killed them and became the most powerful. Maybe there were other inks or ink beings before then!( n3n) Life is all about kill or be killed, right? Heehee! They were the best at that for quite a while until... well... thatās not important.( o3o) We do evolve, actually. Evolution is the strongest surviving, right? And those traits continuing on? We adapt very.... adeptly! By using our hostās form and tearing apart their composition to replicate key features we are ready for the world they come from from the moment we become alive.( n3n) And weāve also improved our ink composition!( u3u) I think mine is far better than ... that original one. Of course I had different standards for it, different things I wanted it to be able to do. Such adaptation doesnāt even take multiple generations, those of us who came from Gravestone have all improved from what we started with.
Inky, do you know if your species has a 'homeworld'. Not really like a place you were born per se, but the place your ancestors could have started from ? Have you ever heard of such a place, or is such questions beyond your knowledge.
( ^3^) Native-Ā noun. A person born in a specified place or associated with a place by birth, whether subsequently resident there or not.( o3o) I was made in the place now called Risen. That makes me native, right? Thatās my home world!
( n3n) Donāt forget, most inks have two creators, not just Gravestone! Part of what we are comes from our host. Which would actually be useful if we went to other worlds and universes- our main form would be adapted to the world already, while inks in other worlds are made up completely differently.
( u3u) As far as where the first inks were made... Heehee, you know what Gravestone did, right?Ā
( 030) They destroyed worlds. And from what I know, their home world was given the most LOVE since it had the most sentimental attachments.
( u3u) Its the reason they started traveling in the first place. But they didnāt play well with others. I didnāt get many memories of theirs, and I... Um... Too bad anyone who would remember that is dead.

( n3n) Maybe that mean lady might know. She talked to Gravestone and awful lot! They were best friends you know. Until she got a new friend and killed them. Heehee!

Because before I died he acted one way... but he acts different now. AND BOY HAS HE BEEN ACTING WEIRD!( Ć“3Ć“) He defended me when Gravestone themselves was upset with me. But when I died he didnāt care? I know I wasnāt the nicest when I possessed one of his friends- but he still said heād help me. And convincing her not to kill me was help.( u3o) I donāt know what his deal is. Itās his deal. Iām not gonna worry about it. Though I would like to be his ally, I donāt know where we stand.

It seems ink isn't as friendly as it's made out to be, regarding the effects of drinking it. Tell me, is there a dark secret behind the ink? If so, what is it.
