She wasn’t sure what to think of this. What little she knew of her mother could fit on a single strip of paper. Over the years her father had said remarkably little about the woman she had once known as mommy. Maybe it had been better that way. And yet... she felt incredibly vulnerable right now. Joanna had gotten used to knowing what was going to happen, and this state of uncertainty was driving her insane.
Hands curling around her mug of coffee, she sighed. This was going to go badly. She could feel it. The sound of approaching footsteps made her look up. Frowning, her grip on the mug tightened and she began tensing up. “H-hi.” Clearing her throat, she tried to smile. This was her mother after all.
