“ You’re understanding is flawed, Miss Tohsaka. “ it’s to be expected. from what she’s learned from both Rin and Shirou, as well as through small tidbits from Saber herself, what truly happened towards the end of the Fourth Grail War was something that few knew the truth of. it was something that was out of reach to both of the young maguses, but also Saber herself. (that was for the best for now. last they met, Saber’s state was like that of a broken young girl, with the way she clung to Irisviel’s clothes as if it was the last lifeline left to the Servant. recent findings have shown her that it had not improved. so, for now, this too will remain unknown to the Knight.)
“ Kiritsugu Emiya was Saber’s Master, yet he was not the one with her in the field. That role was left to me. I was, by proxy, her Master in the eyes of the other participants in the war. “ it was her who had the Holy Sword’s scabbard resting inside of her, keeping her strong enough to fulfill her duty and her role. blood red eyes narrow, practically boring into that of the other as fingers rise to pluck an already withering forget-me-not from her shoulder. “ And It was not Kiritsugu who killed me but the man by the name of Kirei Kotomine. Yet he was too late to stop what had already begun.”
blue petals held within curled fingers are crushed within seconds. fingers unfurl, letting the scattered remains fall into her lap. this flower nonsense was utterly annoying but only one thing could be done about it. whether or not this would be to Rin’s benefit was something only the Tohsaka could decide. in the long run...it had little bearing on Irisviel. “ Shirou had informed me of what transpired in your era’s Grail War. Saber as well, though not as much. So yes, I know of what happened to Illyasviel.”
she had appreciated Shirou’s honesty back then. it had been so much for him, yet he still told her everything. but whether or not he shared that info with Rin was yet unknown, not that it mattered now. she would lay the record straight. after all, mages are notorious for spinning things their way. “ Kiritsugu was Shirou’s adoptive father but, before that time, he was my husband. And Illyasviel our daughter. Now, I have heard how Shirou felt. I want to hear it from you. And please, do not try to lie to me, Miss Tohsaka. “
