Or rather: Why you should support your home demon.

Demonology content is very limited because almost everyone parrots the same grimoires with the sigils that mean no good for your oh so beloved demon. Same kings, same dukes, whatever, same spirits, and the myths are nonsense, research it. My favourite spoiler alert: Fallen angels don’t exist. Shocked? If you’re mad, scroll on. If you’re curious, stay. I’m not discussing facts.

Let’s build real content.

It’s easy to promote first with a known demon, find like-minded people. Agreed, I do that too. But the world is bigger than dusty pages written by long-gone writers. Maybe there’s a demon in your neighborhood. Maybe they’d like to be known. Maybe they’d like to be on your blog. Maybe they like to actually work with you. The realms aren’t just a few Kings. There are plenty of locals. And there are other Kings too.

With locals I do mean Earth realm demons. It depends, of course, on how good your psychic abilities are, but you can find demons or other spirits nearby. Otherwise, ask someone for help identifying them. They might just be wandering around. They might actually live near you. They might be attached to something. Maybe they’ve been with you forever. Maybe you should give them a voice, because let’s be honest: the big names from the grimoires do not personally care about us at all. For them, humans are strict business. Your home demon probably does care about you. Maybe count on it.

When discussing the pros and cons, the answer should be clear by now.

And don’t come at me with “What if people say I have a trickster and they’re harmful?” Honestly, this fear of being seen and judged is such a human social problem. You work with demons, you say? His Majesty does not give a sh*t what people think, then you don’t give a sh*t either. Post it.

The real question is: Where are the new writers? Is it one? Is it many here on Tumblr? Maybe. Let’s go find them.

The answer is simple: stop hiding.

Someone has to be the first face attached to a different story.

I was busy all day yesterday discussing things with my spirits, and they were very insistent about one thing: they wanted me to make an account for me.

Using my actual name, my real life human name.

I sat with that for a while, because let’s be honest, being publicly associated with demonolatry isn’t always the safest thing in the world. Depending on where you live, it can even be dangerous. If you are in that situation, protect yourself first.

But if you can?

Why not?

The fear of being seen includes showing your face online. It includes attaching your real name to your work. It includes accepting that some people will see you and decide they don’t like your face, your practice, your beliefs, or your teachings.

And then what?

Do they pay your rent?

No?

Then post.

My spirits made a good point. If I want to change the collective narrative around demons, hiding forever behind names and masks isn’t going to do much. The current narrative exists because people repeated it for generations. They pushed one story until it became the story.

If we want a different story, we have to be willing to push it ourselves.

So I agreed.

Besides, I don’t have the time right now to animate spirits for social media accounts. Even with AI, people seem to think everything magically creates itself. It doesn’t. It still takes work. I am a graduated artist from modern times. I know exactly how much work goes into maintaining an online presence.

Now I just need to work on some aesthetics, but keep it real. I want normal people to learn about demonology and get away from them calling us weirdos and evil people. The mainstream press just makes it worse and I had enough of all of that.

But people will see my hollow death worker cheeks anyway when I do videos, a bit cliché. And honestly? That’s fine. A bit strange should be fine.

If you want to change the collective narrative of demons, you have to be willing to be the first person walking in a different direction. Hello, here I am. Push the conversation somewhere new. Keep pushing. Then sit back and enjoy watching your work spread.

The old narrative was built by repetition.

The new one will be too.

Generally I always advise to start with a dictionary of demons. If you like and prefer old-school get a second hand copy to scribble in it, fold pages, mark things and actually work with it. Practice should never be too expensive and be practical in a literal sense, but of course that also works with digital copies, which are often cheaper, to scribble on your tablet, you decide, your preference. Once you have it you can simply flip through it almost like a catalogue of spirits you want to learn from or maybe eventually work with.

With bibliomancy, the practice of intuitively opening book pages for guidance or messages, you can choose a demon in a playful and natural way. Maybe you directly stumble upon a page with a demon from a domain that already interests you. The description of the demon leads you further to connected spirits and literature. Decide for yourself what feels authentic and what doesn’t.

Known ancient grimoires are honestly hard to read for beginners and even newer literature is often written with some kind of agenda attached to it. Personally I still haven’t found any literature that represents demons and demonic realms fully authentic for me either.

The next step would be moving from theory into practice, once you feel 100% ready of course, never pressure yourself, and choosing your demon guide, and honestly this may also end up being a guide you never even found in any book at all with a higher chance for an invested guide that genuinely likes you and can be as good as a famous demon.

If you haven’t trained your clairs yet, I advise to work with a fair priced neutral psychic medium who mainly does ordinary readings, especially if you don’t already have someone experienced around you. Explain that you need guidance for your spiritual journey involving demons and usually genuine mediums are actually happy to help for the beginning of your journey, without any judgement.

I wouldn’t necessarily advise going directly to a demonolater, because unfortunately I’ve seen too many disoriented practitioners causing their clients more harm than help. A neutral psychic medium usually gives you a much safer and more grounded start until you feel ready practicing on your own.

As for the second part, I personally see all current world religions originally rooted in the idea of humans living together in harmony. Religion should never restrict freedom, freedom of thought or curiosity. Whatever your research and experiences in demonology may eventually lead you toward will not and never lessen your worth within your community.

Usually it’s people weaponizing religion against its own followers to influence them long-term, and not because you are wrong. It’s because you are willing to expand your horizon into things they themselves would never dare to touch, and that scares people.

A simple test is to bring up a few ghost stories or paranormal experiences you’ve been interested in lately and see how they react.

If they’re curious, open-minded, or genuinely interested, the conversation may be worth the effort.

If they immediately demand to know whether you “actually believe that stuff,” insist that every paranormal story is really about “evil” demons “trying to get your soul” and even launch into a rant about how “satanic” Hollywood supposedly is while not even knowing what satanism is, pass. It’s not worth it.
