The Goetias' royal outfits of choice, and what they say about them.
(AKA, Stolas being the intentional odd one out)
Vassago seems to be something of a magician. At the very least he can control star shaped platforms and conjures golden items.
His outfit reflects that: proper but flashy enough to suit his domain and personality. Very down to earth, but somewhat whimsical too, which is perfect for him.
Then there's Andrealphus. His power is over ice and... well, you can see that from a mile away, right?
Light blue attire, that huge mink-y collar, that icicle shaped crown... This guy is not one of subtlety, now is he? He truly wants to let everyone know he should be the only diva in the room.
What about Paimon? We don't know his specific domain (he can shapeshift, at the very least, and he gives off arcane vibes), yet his outfit conveys an idea of importance and old royalty.
He looks properly imposing, which is fitting for the head honcho of the Goetias.
Octavia herself has an outfit that perfectly represents her, as a character: a hoodie that hides a pink shirt covered in stars that resembles what she used to wear when she was a kid. Not to mention her beanie that acts like her tiara.
A very casual attire that hints at her down to earth, yet introverted attitude that still wishes to go back to a time when things made sense around her.
And she also seems to have power over stars just like her dad, so her outfit is extra fitting.
And then there's Stolas' royal attire, and this is where there's something that doesn't add up. He's got powers over stars and prophecies, not to mention a whimsical, yet melancholic attitude. So, all I'm asking...
...where the heck is that conveyed in his romper?? Nowhere, I tell you! Nothing about his outfit says anything about his magic, nor his personality!
That outfit seems like it's made to engulf him, as if it's trying to claim him.
If anything, with its color palette and general look, it seems like it'd fit Paimon much more and that would explain SO MUCH!!
The royal romper doesn't fit Stolas. The outfit says more about the Goetias' lifestyle's control over his life rather than who he really is.
Because, when Stolas actually wears something of his choice, the outfit perfectly suits him! Just look at the dress he chose for his date at Ozzie's!
Now THAT reflects his personality! Elegant, decadent, the beautiful starry effect inside the cape that adds that extra whimsy... He's breathing, and living the moment. He's very much showing off himself!
And Blitzø told him (overall kinda reasonably) that it was a bit too much for a restaurant, so you can imagine how much that would hurt the poor owl: it's as if he's being told HE is too much... :')
My point is, Stolas, out of everyone else, is the only one whose outfit doesn't suit him. Poor guy constantly got forced into a role that would never fit him, and it's evident even in the wardrobe he has to wear as a royal.
He'd ironically flourish in more mundane clothes, after his banishment. His "commoner" attire actually shows off his elegant introversion, and allows him to breathe.
