⁣ 𝟒-𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 𝐎𝐥𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐃𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐃𝐮𝐞 𝐓𝐨 𝐍𝐞𝐠𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐂𝐨-𝐎𝐰𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐚𝐲𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐥𝐭𝐲⁣ ⁣ On May 22, 2019 in Jacksonville, Florida the mother of an infant under supervision at Ewing’s Love & Hope Preschool and Academy called to arrange to pick up her baby girl, but was informed by the employee that her child was not checked in. This prompted the daycare staff to check the inside of the company van only to find the infant strapped to her car seat unresponsive. 911 was called and the infant was taken to the hospital only to be pronounced dead.⁣ ⁣ Children of various parents were picked up around 8:00am and upon arrival the infant girl was forgotten inside the van. It was not until 5 hours later that daycare staff realized, but it was too late. The temperature that day was recorded at 92 degrees. Darryl Ewing, the co-owner of the daycare facility, was in charge of making sure all children were accounted for.⁣ ⁣ Following the tragic death of the baby girl, Ewing has since been arrested and jailed for child neglect.
