Kuraray to increase price for ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer

Kuraray Co Ltd announced a price increase on its EVOH products (ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer; Kuraray trademark: EVAL) effective 1 December 2017. Due to increased costs of raw materials used in the production of EVAL EVOH, these actions are necessary.

Under these circumstances, Kuraray has decided to implement the following price increases for EVAL EVOH.

Price increase in Asia Pacific – $ 0.20/kg; North America, South America –$0.09/lb ($0.20/kg) and Europe, Middle East, Africa – €0.15/kg

Wacker Polymers to increase prices for dispersions globally

Wacker Polymers said that it will increase prices for dispersions of the brands Vinnapas, Vinnol and Primis globally. Effective 16 October 2017, prices will be raised by up to 10 percent.

This measure has been necessitated by the ongoing cost increases especially through market price increases for raw materials such as vinyl acetate monomer (VAM).

Dispersions of the Vinnapas, Vinnol and Primis brands are applied in a broad variety of industries, ranging from adhesives, caulks, nonwovens, paints and coatings to paper, carpet and textiles.

The price adjustment enables Wacker Polymers to continue providing customers with a wide-range of innovative quality products and comprehensive technical, sales and customer support services.

Wacker to increase prices for silicones, pyrogenic silica

Wacker Chemie AG said that it is increasing its prices for silicone polymers, silicone fluids and silicones from downstream production stages, effective November 1.

Wacker’s pyrogenic silica HDK will also be affected. Depending on product family, region and business field, the price increase will range up to 25 percent, if permitted by existing customer contracts. This measure is necessitated by rising production expenses due to increasing raw material and energy costs.
