One thing positive in bipolar diagnose is this. I've been imsomniac my whole adult life and it has made so much damage to my wellbeing. And when I have seek help for it, it has been only "you can rely on medication only temporarily, you have to learn how to mediate and good luck with that." I have fucking aphantasia, I can't imagine a peaceful walk in the forest and shit.
The second I got the diagnose, it was the opposite. They told me I have to stay medicated for the rest of my life and the most important thing is to sleep. I can take a pill (quetapine) every night and it makes my racing thoughts to shut up and I can sleep every night. What a relief.
