That’s the journal I mentioned a few posts ago. Surprisingly, my mom is super into it. Since she lives over an hour away from me, I filled out some of the prompts while I was with her and just left it there. That way, when she finally gets a chance, she can fill some out too.
Yeah, we didn’t get to hang out much. Most of her time was spent working:
Not that I’m complaining! I love her work ethic. Even during a power outage, she was trying to find things to do so she wouldn’t be slacking. We will just have to set aside time where she isn’t scheduled to work because there was never a moment the phones weren’t ringing.
Aside from watching my mom work her butt off, I took her dog Angel (who she affectionately calls my ‘sister’) to get her nails clipped. This was her pre-trimming:
Let’s just say that she wasn’t in a selfie-taking mood when she came out of the grooming room. She also nervous peed twice.
Regardless of the struggles involved in taking her out, I enjoyed it. My mom insists that I don’t have to do these errands for her and always worries over it. I wish she wouldn’t because tasks like this make me feel needed and valuable. If I’m able to take a little stress off of her by picking up some medication or taking the dog to be groomed, then I’m all in. It’s not like the tasks are strenuous, anyway.
My day is not over, though! Last night, my grandma texted me and asked if I wanted to have a sleepover with her and one of my sisters-in-law. Naturally, I agreed- but that doesn’t make me any less confused as to why Sara is spending the night with my grandmother. Oh well, I have my fingers crossed for a movie night with some hot chocolate. I don’t care if it’s currently 90 degrees outside- I want my hot chocolate.
