Oh, hey! Fun fact cause apparently NOBODY seems to know this.
Burger King’s impossible (vegetarian) patties are cooked on the same broiler as the meat! That means that for you vegetarians/vegans who don’t eat meat out of choice, dietary requirements, or for religious purposes, your vegetarian burger is cooked on the same grill that’s had beef or chicken sitting in the exact same spot.
And yeah, you can request for it to not be cooked on the broiler. But you wanna know what we do with it then? We put it in the microwave. Yeah, it is a plant patty, so it’s not like there’s a chance of having a deadly raw patty, but like... a microwave?
And, soon, we’re coming out with a breakfast patty made from plants. Now, another unknown thing: our broiler isn’t put together until 10 am ~ish. Your breakfast sausage? Cooked in the fryer (gross!). Bacon is cooked in the oven (not bad at all). And ham? Also microwaved! But the impossible patty for breakfast? We put that in the multi-fryer. Wanna know what else goes in said multi-fryer? The sausage! And lunch/dinner’s chicken! (And also, our onion rings are cooked in the multi-fryer if you liked those.)
Sorry for the rant, just getting peeved about things cause I know there’s people that can be allergic to red meat or their religion could be against eating meat and knowing that their food was cooked in the same place as meat could be upsetting. (Also, side note, if you’re vegan, get no mayo cause that’s got eggs. And if you really want to be safe, get no lettuce as well because the amount of mayo that ends up in the lettuce is kind of disgusting.)
me, trying an impossible whopper knowing BK gave me beef.
I’m about to try an Impossible Whopper.
