The forest was so dark, and funnily enough James couldn’t recall how they had got there... and neither could Hannah. James was a short man standing at 5′4″, blond hair and blue eyes, he wore a comfortable jumper and jeans. His child was brunette, same eyes and also wearing a jumper but sporting shorts instead of jeans. She was a meager 3ft.
“Could use some lights to help us see.” James murmured, with that hint his daughter clapped her hands together and when she parted them small orbs flickered to life in her palms and hovered around them to light the way. Sometimes magic truly was convenient... if only he could figure out how to make his own work.
“Where do you think we are Daddy?” Hannah piped up, keeping close to her father while peering around curiously.
“Not sure sweetheart, think I saw a sign reading Subcon Forest further up the path. We should find our way out of here soon as possible.” James hummed thoughtfully.
He gazed at the almost luminous ponds around them and then up at the purple tree’s that towered into the sky. Sure it was spooky... but also sort of - “Beautiful....” James thought aloud, “Whoever maintains this place takes good care of it.”
“You like forests, you sure you don’t wanna look around?” Hannah asked, her father giving her a small smile before shaking his head.
“As nice as it is we should really find a way home sweetheart. Come on.”
