Dear Prime Prober,

I recall one Springer who rose to the position of Prime. He was a Cyber Ninja serving under Impactor Major during the Great War. Unfortunately, when Impactor Major's ship—the Omega Sentinel codenamed Zeta Supreme—was destroyed by the Decepticon Heavy Brigade, Springer was the only survivor.

For the rest of the great war, Springer waged a long crusade, hunting down each member of the Heavy Brigade he could find. He was responsible for offlining Chopter, Dropkick, Grinder, Shokaract, and Spinister. From each of them he took their rotor blades as trophies, even using them as weapons. For his bravery—though many suspected it was pure recklessness—he was named Springer Prime, and given his own group of recruits to recreate Impactor Major's own unit, the Wreckers.

Dear Wrecker Wrangler, 

The group that would eventually become the Wreckers were a ragtag team of Autobots that formed early in the Great War. Brought together to rescue the Autobot politician Xaaron from the clutches of the vile Decepticon leader Trannis, this initial roster consisted of their leader Impactor Minor, Roadbuster, Topspin, Twin Twist, and Whirl. Though they initially squabbled and bickered, the death-defying challenges they faced on their mission forged powerful bonds between them, and their teamwork saw Trannis defeated and Emirate Xaaron safely returned to Iacon. Unfortunately, as with most of their future missions, this campaign was not without loss—specifically, that of Impactor’s hand.

After this mission, Xaaron told their story to Powered Convoy Magnus, who wished to commemorate their bravery by making them part of the Cybertron Elite Guard and promoting Impactor to Major. While graciously accepting his rise in rank, Impactor felt that his crew weren’t suited to the pomp and public of the Elite Guard, instead suggesting to Magnus they be made an elite commando unit dedicated to going behind enemy lines to sabotage the Decepticon war machine. In preparation of this, the now-hardened Impactor Major saw fit to replace his missing hand with a firing harpoon.

As the War progressed, the Wreckers found themselves venturing from the seediest underbellies of Cybertronian society to the furthest reaches of space. Ever-facing the impossible, they gained new members and lost others across the War. Notable additions included the gargantuan Broadside, rescue-worker-turned-soldier Inferno, the composite brothers Rack’n’Ruin, the contemplative Sandstorm, stealthy inventor Leadfoot, the pious builder Scoop, sharpshooter Moonracer, and a young pupil of Master Yoketron named Springer. Their record proved so impressive that Impactor was selected to be bonded to an Omega Sentinel—Zeta Supreme, which became their ship the Xantium.

Unfortunately, the Wreckers’ success also earned them the ire of Megatron himself, who commissioned the creation of the Decepticon Heavy Brigade specifically to deal with them. The Wreckers managed to give the Brigade the slip for many stellar cycles before they finally clashed. The battle was brutal, with both sides taking heavy casualties. In the end, the Decepticon Blackout seemed to be the only survivor of the altercation, having destroyed Zeta Supreme. Unbeknownst to anyone at the time, however, was that young Springer had also survived. Haunted by the carnage, Springer elected not to return to Cybertron but to instead wander the galaxy, acting as a mercenary, helping individuals and facing Decepticons where he could as he focused on healing his spark.
