house steals wilson’s lunch so often that wilson starts making double portions and bringing ones to work for house so house will stop stealing his food. he puts house’s name on them and house thinks it’s corny as hell, yet wilson catches the brief glimmer of a smile on house’s face every time he sees it. wilson starts adding in little notes to the lunch packs a week later. they start out as little inane comments ‘this took me an hour to make last night’ or ‘come by tonight and we can make that tiramisu you were talking about’ and somewhere along the line those little notes in the lunches that wilson makes for house become something more. the next note reads, ‘go out with me tonight. not as friends.’ house marches into wilson’s office and drops the note onto wilson’s desk and walks out. under wilson’s note, in house’s messy scrawl, ‘fine. pick me up at 8. don’t be late.’ a month later, wilson leaves another note on the leftovers from the chicken dish they’d made together at house’s apartment the night before. ‘just in case you hadn’t deduced it in bed last night, I love you,’ wilson’s note confesses. wilson finds the note on his desk later that afternoon, with the words ‘I know’ written beneath wilson’s love confession. wilson smiles and tucks the note into his pocket for safekeeping
