Meeting of the Minds
You peruse through the store's rather meager selection of books, all the while resisting the urge to scream at every layer of dust you find on them. So many trolls in this area were so dead set on simply reading what they could on their husktops, not even contemplating on how easily such public information could be altered before they even read it.
Ignorant masses, the lot of them. Sighing, you take one of the more abused books from the shelf, and start to gently look through it's pages. You hear the shop's door open, and steal a quick glance at the troll who'd walked in.
"Hm?"
Imatta smiles to herself as she makes her way through the dense forest, the sizable picnic basket within her sylladex making her want to quicken her pace. The food inside said basket would be kept warm enough until she got to her destination, but visiting Talbot always made her a little more eager to get to his lake.
Over the last month, she'd been having quite a good time whenever she visited her friend, always intrigued by his unhealing wounds. He was a fascinating 'specimen' for her more curious nature, but he was also quite a lovely companion when he was in a good mood. Half the time, the two of them never even needed to talk all that much to one another, the silence they shared rather comfortable in Imatta's opinion.
The yellowblood worried at times that Talbot might find her boring, but she usually shook away those thoughts right away. Just because she didn't have many friends didn't mean she was boring. She...just didn't have many neighbors! That was all. And Talbot was enough. He put up with her curiosity over his wounds, and just dealt with her presence in general. As a violetblood, he was more than entitled to kill her for even talking to him, if he felt like it. So any red inclinations she may or may not have been feeling over the past few weeks were readily pushed aside for friendship's sake. Imatta just counted herself lucky to not have been killed the first time they'd met.
Either way, it didn't matter. The yellowblood was content with their current relationship, and that was that...possibly. Fixing her glasses out of nervous habit, Imatta continues her way through the forest.
Worn Binding and Cigarette Smoke ((AU))
Imatta quietly makes her way out of the library, a heavy stack of books within her grasp as she makes her way through the small town. She'd moved here about a year ago, taking swift advantage of the peace and quiet of the area. The brunette could never get much reading done back in the city during any free time she'd had.
Thankfully, this town's small library had an open position, and the quiet atmosphere of the almost countryside had been too appealing for Imatta to ignore. And so far, she'd enjoyed her new life here. Taking her few online college courses, working at the library, getting her morning and afternoon coffee everyday...it was nice.
The tiny coffee shop in town was actually where she was headed right now, having just gotten off her shift. Pushing open the shop's door as carefully as she could with all her books in hand, the young woman makes a quick 'scan' of the shop's occupants for the hour. The usual few, it seemed. An old man who she saw at the park quite often, a mother and her little girl having a quick lunch, and...oh!
And Imatta's 'acquaintance' of sorts. A young man only about a year or so older than herself, and who'd moved into the town a few years before her as well. Imatta didn't see him here everyday of course, but when she did they usually engaged in very light conversation. Or just sat with each other in comfortable silence.

The Way To A Troll's Blood Pusher, Is Through His Digestive Sack
Practically rushing around the nutrition block, Imatta hurriedly throws a dash of spices onto the meal cooking on the heating unit.
She wasn't really the best at cooking, so she'd poured over any cookbooks she owned, trying to figure out the perfect combination of spices and such to add to the batch of shrimp she'd gathered.
Imatta planned to visit Talbot tonight, after a few weeks of on and off scientific observations and studying on his condition, she'd wanted to do something in return for his patience. So after she'd learned his favorite food was shrimp, but was unable to obtain it...she'd set herself to work.
When the food's done, she quickly captchalogues the bowl, and sets out for Talbot's lake.
Dealing
Imatta stared at the journal, for what was about the 10 millionth time this week. Her finger idly traces over the tyrian symbol on the cover, before sighing heavily. "What to do...?"
The yellowblood had already spent the last week reading the tome, memorizing whatever she could, and writing down what she read almost word for word. This kind of situation had never presented itself to her before, not even in her thoughts.
She'd made a promise of sorts to the Usurper, and that was all well and good...if it didn't involve handing over a journal to his descendant as (most likely) insurance that the unknown, young seadweller would become just as cruel and feared as he had been in the past. Imatta could simply ignore the promise. What was a long-dead ruler of Alternia going to do to her?
But...really, if the adult had popped back into life once, then what was to stop him from doing it again? Groaning, Imatta flops onto the floor, her lusus making a concerned bleating at her recently brooding attitude. She waves a dismissing hand at the ram.
After about an hour of thinking, Imatta sits up, her eyes hard and determined. Grabbing a piece of paper, she quickly draws the symbol from the journal, before placing the book in her sylladex.
Imatta then stalks the coastline, asking any and all trolls she comes across if they'd seen a sea dweller bearing the symbol she'd drawn. It was a frightfully tedious and frustrating effort, with even a slight blackrom solicitation thrown her way in that time.
But eventually, she finds a troll who points her in the right direction. She thanks the troll, and makes her way in said direction. All the while hoping this plan she had would work.
Scientific Curiosity
It wasn't often that Imatta took walks. Her favored place was still among her rather impressive collection of old books, as musty and crowded others thought such a place was. But of course, her lusus had pushed her outside to get some fresh air. The old ram could be such a bother about the outdoors at times.
But, Imatta did as she was told, being sure she had a few books in her sylladex ahead of time, though. If she was going to be forced to walk among the trees and such, she might as well have some entertainment.
It's a little while longer before Imatta comes upon a lake within the forest, the area looking quiet peaceful, thankfully. A good place to read. She settles down against a tree trunk, and plucks out a rather interesting tome she had just started that evening.
