just like "why did you become an educator" because i love it! and i love teaching! and kids deserve teachers who are passionate not only about what they're teaching but also passionate about teaching it! and kids deserve education that engages them at their level and adapts to them and helps them make smart decisions! kids don’t need white saviors or white knights or tourists who come in and out of their lives - they need support and they need structure and they need to be loved. like do i want to make an impact? sure? but so does everyone?
idk. i’m tired of being asked this question without professors willing to fight back against people who want to go into “special education” because they “love helping people <3″ because one day you’re going to struggle and love for the game isn’t enough.
