I really like 'the gang turns black', not only its funny in new ways, but it's one of the episodes with the most shocking (and still realistic) final moments, but still quirky and fun, that gives me chills. It gave me a pretty graphic (and still needed for a non-north american) of systemic racism and police brutality and what it's like to be a poc living in north america -and that I definitely don't want to live over there.
I also like that they tried to correct the racism of the gang, even if it gets to be literal MAGIC to do that (which is not only funny but on character); it's not a coincidence that it's the same season that mac comes out. I think rcg realized, as creators, that the racist and homophobic aspect of the characters was getting old and uncomfortable to watch. even when they learn nothing at the end of the episode and repeat racist patterns, in a meta way the creators gave a candid look, without abandoning the genre and comedic aspects. I think that makes it even more chilling, at least for me.
also, i love musical episodes.
i think it's cool that batman's personal soundtrack has that calming part in the beginning but it also has that escalating intimidation part at the end because that's what batman has become at the end of that movie. people's hope but still feared by the criminals. and that, ladies, gents, and enbies, is what justice supposed to be.
CH.15 little things
FIRSTLY Din’s adorable helmet hair does things to me
And SECOND Mayfeld’s apparent ambidexterity? He shoots a blaster right handed but later fires the cycle rifle left handed.
At first i thought they just did the movie thing and mirrored the scene, but no, in the next shot he has his blaster holstered on his right hip.
It’s especially unusual when in chapter 6 we see him easily dual wielding blasters, but obviously favoring his right hand.
Somewhere I read a study that found left handed people are not as completely left dominant as right handed people are right dominant. I as a lefty can understand this, as I write/draw/eat etc. with my left hand but swing/punch/throw with my right, as well as being right footed-meaning I lead with/kick/stance myself with my right leg. Although shooting I’m solidly left handed- both handgun and rifle- so I find him shooting like this interesting.
This is a small thing to be invested in, but when you’re a lefty you notice these things and feel some sort of solidarity with it for whatever reason.

Also, Mayfeld is a character I didn’t expect to care about so much, but now I do and I’m happy he gets a chance at a fresh start.
Can we talk about the fact that the book that led the fishermen to the City of Mizu was signed by Karl? Karl was the one that lead them to the city. Karl was the one to witness their deaths and write it down.
Why would he sign the book himself? Plotwise it would make sense for Ranbob to lure people there to sacrifice in Dreams name.
But he doesnt.
The book was signed with "K", why would Karl lead them there?

Hey can we talk about how weirdly hopeful Tubbo got when Wilbur mentioned that Dream was going to bring Schlatt back? How he almost defended him. How he mentioned how he might be better. Let's talk about that for a moment.
Okay but it can't be a coincidence that Arryn compared Sun and Blake to Adrien and Marinette and said there would be a spin off next year. Like obviously it's a joke but the fact that she said NEXT YEAR could mean something, more like they will be canon next year!
Ok but did none of the townfolk hear what Dipper said about mind-controlling Stan at the cafe? Like the kid literally yelled, and there were a lot of people in there. Did they just not hear it or are they just stupid???
