“Baby. Why? We never did anything. I swear!” My fiancé was pleading with me. He cheated on you with a skank he found walking Hollywood Boulevard and you both know it. He is just too much of a coward to admit it.

“Then why the fuck did you go sneak around for 2 weeks and would always come back to our home smelling like cheap perfume and alcohol?” I am disgusted at this point. “This isn’t high school! Grow the fuck up and tell me why you did it! Am I not enough for you?”

He just stares at me, knowing he can’t do anything to change my mind. Sighing, he says, “I did. I did cheat on you with her...not my finest moment, I know. I just got scared about committing to you for the rest of my life.”

“I’m 22, I want a relationship that’ll go somewhere, not nesicarrliy somewhere, but I want someone who won’t cheat on me for no apparent reason. I just wasted the last 3 years on you,” I spat.

With a huff, I turn on my heels to go to our shared bedroom grab a bag with some needed things. I somehow pack 5 days of clothing, razors, toothpaste and brush, contacts, chargers, and makeup all into a small baby pink Kate Spade Satchel. I through it on to my shoulder and grab my phone and keys from the bar. I look back at my fiancé, “Oh yeah. Here’s this back. You’ll need it for the whore you slept with that caused all of this.” You throw the white gold ring at him and hear it drop to the ground as you continue your dramatic march out.

As I get into the safety of my car, I have to decide what to do and more importantly where to go. The people who come to mind is both of my best friends; Natalie and, the one I saw on Hollywood Blvd a few months ago, David.

I don’t have either of their numbers. That is where keeping in touch with some high school friends can come in handy. You never know when you might need to get an old friend to help you out a bit.

I text Ilya, knowing he’d have his number.

Me: Could I have Dave’s number

Ilya: Why?

Me: U want the long version or do u just wanna give me the number

Ilya: It’s (818) 447-4196

Me: Thank you love

I like how he just knows not to question me anymore.

Me: Hey David, it’s Y/N. Can I come over and catch up?

David: Hey, of course you can here’s the address. Some where random, Studio City
