One would think that Dan Heng would be kinder towards a fellow Trailblazer, but ever since Delorean had joined them (or, had he always been part of their ranks?), his suspicion had never been kind towards the other Vidyadhara. The others thought his doubts were foolish, and even offensive at times. More than once had Himeko or Welt pulled him aside to gently scold their Guard over his doubts, until it simply was decided that not all members would like each other, especially as their ranks varied in their journey across the cosmos. Members would come and go, and so would passengers.

Even in silence, something about the other rankled him. Perhaps it was his own prejudice towards his own people bubbling hotly to the surface, unable to trust the very ones who had hated and craved his abuse and destruction like a dog to be put down. There was no promise this one was even from the Xianzhou Alliance, but what else explained him?

⠀⠀  if  there  is  one  thing  that  milou  appreciated  about  her  upbringing,   it  was  that  street  smarts  have  been  ingrained  into  her  head  from  the  moment  she  started  walking.   it’s  an  asset  that  one  could  never  have  enough  of,   though  in  her  family’s  line  of  work   ⸺   it  was  invaluable.   with  every  voyage  that  mingate  embarked  on,   she  only  continued  to  hone  it  further.

⠀⠀  her  travels  have  brought  her  to  every  corner  of  the  cosmos,   the  people  she  met  &  experiences  she  made  never  quite  the  same.   but  if  there  is  one  constant  she  could  count  on,   then  it  was  the  greed  of  a  merchant.   glossolia’s  markets  were  bustling  with  people  from  various  walks  of  life,   whether  they’d  be  trying  to  stock  their  household’s  pantry  for  the  week  or  looking  for  souvenirs  to  bring  home  to  their  loved  ones.   although  it  was  often  a  hustle  for  those  participating  in  the  scene,   the  simplicity of  it  all  brought  a  sense  of  comfort  to  milou.  she  was  but  an  observer  to  the  life  around  her   ⸺   mingate  knew  that  her  place  was  not  among  the  mundane.   her  time  on  this  planet  was  limited,   every  job  or  lead  taking  her  from  one  place  to  the  next.

⠀⠀  she  always  carried  a  weapon  in  one  hand,   a  packed  suitcase  in  the  other   ⸺   ready  to  leave  at  a  moment’s  notice,   lest  those  trying  to  get  her  would  finally  catch  up.   there  was  no  time  to  stop   ⸺   at  least, that  was  until  she  would  catch  sight  of  a  familiar  figure  in  the  crowd.   one  that  she  was  pleasantly  surprised  by  for  once  &  had  no  qualms  walking  up  to,   albeit  at  the  cost  of  interrupting  an  ongoing  trade  exchange.  ⠀ ❝  for  a  moment,   i  thought  my  eyes  had  deceived  me.   it  is  a  pleasure  to  meet  you  here,   miss  robin.  ❞ ⠀  milou  hadn’t  anticipated  that  they  would  meet  again  so  soon  after  leaving  penacony,   though  she  wasn’t  one  to  complain.   the  same  could  not  be  said  about  the  jewellery  merchant  before  them.   mingate  didn’t  bother  giving  attention  to  those  who  didn’t  deserve  it,   but  that  didn’t  mean  that  she  had  no  words  of  wisdom  to  share.  ⠀ ❝  by  the  way,   i  wouldn’t  buy  those  if  i  were  you.   the  original  charms  are  much less  expensive  that  this  counterfeit.  ❞

ㅤㅤAlthough they had only recently become acquainted, Phainon felt a mutual understanding from his FIRST ENCOUNTER with the young Trailblazer, not too unlike a kindred spirit ; they might have jested about their similarities before, but in retrospect, he could not deny that there was indeed some truth to it. After all, most would shirk away from the daunting prospect of facing divine wrath and monstrous beasts — yet these outlanders stood resolute. So, when Caelus spoke in favor of his approach, he could not help but feel a fleeting flicker of recognition. As he thought, they were hewn from the same stone.

golden hues lift from his book to the younger man, his attention following soon behind. it was fairly often that the other members of the crew came to him for advice, especially the younger ones. this isn't exactly advice, but he can tell that whatever his answer is, it will be one that sticks with caelus for a long time. so he gives it a considerable thought, his thoughts drifting to old life. he thinks of war and his friends and his son, and wondering if he'll ever see them again. or if they were even alive still at all. welt drifts away from the memories before he got too wrapped in them, adjusting his glasses before returning his attention to caelus.

at her words, sunday's gaze travels to the clock, surprised to see how much time has passed. it was always easy to get swept up into conversations with his sister, and it wasn't the first time they lost hours talking about everything and nothing at all. the “ problem ” was only exacerbated by robin's admission into paperfold, their story times filled with all of his younger sister's experiences as a freshman and all her new friends and classes. while he was woe to cut their time short, sunday would be remiss to stop her from attending her classes. so a smile curls upon his lips, rising to see his sister out. before that though, he opens the expanse of his arms, hoping and awaiting a hug.

the amount of times sunday has gone to a concert could be counted on a singular hand, and even then on only a few fingers. serval's own show wasn't quite as big as he was expecting, though the size was most likely impressive on belobog's scale. the venue seemed to be filled with off duty officers, though the halovian spotted a few civilians among them, the youths excitedly chatting about serval's music and her aura. and she certainly didn't disappoint, the whole crowd was jumping and singing along to the very first song. sunday himself was clapping along to the songs, his wings fluttering happily to the beat. the set list was similarly amazing, and the halovian found himself enjoying it even more than he thought he would. after it was over, sunday made his way backstage to greet her, a pleased smile adorning his features.
