well this is true lol but shoujo has improved in the last 5 years and most of them now tend to avoid the 'jerk' male lead tope and the non-con scenes! or they actually develop the arrogant jerk male lead into a decent guy who respect the female lead and treats her decently long before the female lead starts developing feelings for him like how 'Last Game' author did with the male lead in her manga. and there is oresama teacher where every shoujo cliche is just nonexistent or used comically

I can’t really say anything to new shoujo manga but it’s good to hear that maybe newer ones are not as bad as the ones I remember! :) I collected my personal experiences with this genre mainly in my teenager years so it’s likely that I’m not that up-to-date anymore lmao. 

That's a good point and I haven't really thought about it until now. :/ I always thought it was more that Boruto just wanted to be a support to the Hokage, but all that still comes back to him idolising Sasuke anyway... ��

Yes, Boruto wants to support him after he realized that his father is trying to protect others and all that. It’s more the emotional aspect that just sounds all over the place to me because he first starts to realize this thanks to Sasuke “guiding him” and that just kinda bothers me? He’s the last person who Boruto should take seriously... Not saying that his advice is bad in general because it isn’t. It’s simply weird af that Boruto is angry at his dad for not being there enough (which is realistic when you think about how much NaruHina spoiled their children with love) but then he’s like all sparkly eyes for Sasuke even though he just got there after being away for 10 years? Idk.

Just... why did Boruto’s “rebellion” stop at Sasuke when he’s the dude that abandoned his family without sending a single letter??? Naruto’s work as hokage induced this drama, yeah, and this is why Boruto is all like “shut up, shitty old man” towards his father. To feel neglected is horrible so why is Boruto so chill when it comes to Sasuke and what he did?

And what I’m saying is... Sasuke is a strong ninja and that is a fact. He can be a good master when it comes to training him physically. But so is Naruto? And so are all the other experienced ninjas that Boruto knows much better? And unlike Sasuke, none of them abandoned their family and idk, just saying that training was never just a physical but also an emotional thing. Boruto is a human being first and a ninja second, and Sasuke’s strength is not excusing everything he did to his own family.

The entire Boruto and Sasuke master/student stuff feels like it’s just there to include Sasuke because god forbid to let Sasuke be sidelined for once so other characters can play a bigger role in Boruto’s ninja career and in his development as a human being who takes responsibility...
