oh yeah for sure. like when I was first into it I wasn’t exactly un-critical of it but I certainly ... ? generally kinda ignored a lot of the worse parts of it in most instances? but returning to it now is like, yeah, no, this is p fucked up. and it’s still important to me and I still care about it, cause it still has enough redeeming elements that I think it’s worth reading and thinking about. but also, like, you just really can’t ignore the nasty parts of it either, those are still a part of it too. especially wrt nny’s psychosis, how that plays into stereotypes, and how it’s frequently turned into a joke, like that’s literally a central plot element and part of the comic’s original concept and it’s really not handled with any sensitivity at all. I feel like it’s kinda hard to talk about the comic in any serious manner in good faith without at least mentioning that part of it.
