Iliae to Des: "Put. The. Weapon. Down."
Desolae bares her teeth at nothing in particular, which pulls her blood-splattered expression into an animalistic snarl. Her knuckles are white around the hilts of her darkened sword but she doesn't direct the weapon properly, moving as if she's forgotten it's still clenched in her grip. The blade nearly slices a line across her calf as she sways a step forwards and then backwards.
"Desolae..." Iliae doesn't approach the rogue any further, only making a palm-down gesture that they had both learned as Farstriders. Desolae's attention swings towards her and then back to the cooling body on the floor. "Open your hands."
A snarl that's interrupted by a jagged cough. The redhead's breathing is harsh and hoarse, just a fraction too deep to be hyperventilating. Her inability to focus has as much to do with her mental state as the blood matting her hair.
Iliae whistles a quiet, low note, pulling Desolae's attention back carefully. When the rogue's eyes make it over to her, the former captain holds her gaze with her hands and repeats the command, signing it. She can't quite replicate the odd grammar for sign language that Desolae uses herself, but the rogue seems to understand it well enough; her hands open, fingers tensed into claws, and the sword clatters to the floor.Ā
All the fight drains from Desolae in the next heartbeat, and Iliae darts forward to catch the redhead as she falls and pull her away from the corpse and the weapon in equal measure. "...at least the collateral deserved what he got," Iliae mutters, setting Desolae down gently. The younger woman sprawls out uncannily like the dead body across from her, similar red hair leaving equally red streaks on the floor.
