I made a few small adaptations after the finale, but honestly, I didn’t really change the core of anything.

Most of the things I had planned are still the same, and some of them actually connected with canon way more easily than I expected.

I already wrote a more detailed post explaining what changed, what stayed the same, and how I’m connecting everything, I just haven’t posted it yet. So please keep an eye out for that!

I had already planned to make Jax abstracted in my AU because I wanted to explore him as an abstracted/hybrid version during the apocalypse arc. So, even though I didn’t exactly want Jax to become abstracted in the actual series, I have to admit I was happy that I could connect that part to my AU so naturally. It was one of those “well... this hurts, but it fits” moments lol 😭

The trans part is also something that was already very important to me. It has been my favorite headcanon for Jax for a long time, I just hadn’t made it explicit in the story yet. But it was always there in how I interpreted her. My reblog Tumblr has had a lot of transitioned Jax art since before the finale, back when we only had "Daisy" arts and nothing was confirmed, so this wasn’t something I suddenly added just because of the ending. It was more like canon finally gave me the freedom to say it out loud in my AU.

I also had noticed a lot of the hints and possibilities the show was leaving open, but because everything was still uncertain, I kept some parts of my AU open too. That’s actually one of the reasons I never posted the continuation of the diary comic.

I wanted to wait and see where the original story would go before fully committing to certain things, even though my AU has its own direction and, in my version, everyone outside the Circus is already dead.

Now that the series is complete, I feel much more free to continue and finally post things I’ve been keeping saved for a while. One of them is the diary chapter, which is a direct continuation of the little comic I made at the beginning of the year where they read each other’s diaries. I’ve been holding onto that one for so long, so I’m really excited to finally share it.

So yes, the AU is absolutely continuing. Some details have been adjusted, but the heart of it is still the same. I still have a lot I want to explore with Jax, Pomni, the abstraction, the apocalypse side of the story, and everything that comes after. Thank you so much for caring about my version of what happens next, it really means a lot. 💛
