Last time I posted the Pentland Hills, in autumn, they were purple. Today they are covered in snow, though it is rapidly melting in the city. The Pentlands span 20 miles (32 km) to the south-west of Edinburgh. There is evidence of prehistoric settlement in the area, and farming from the pre-Roman era by the local Celtic people. The hills are an enjoyable walk in the summer. In the foreground is Saltire Court on Castle Terrace, completed in 1991. The site had lain derelict for over 25 years, in hopes it would be home to an opera house. The winning design out of 22 proposals was by Campbell & Arnott, with 49% of the public vote. . . . . #snow #thisisedinburgh #loves_edinburgh #edinburgh #igersedinburgh #edinphoto #scotland #visitscotland #scotspirit #beautifuledinburgh #instascotand #igerscots #igmasters #this_is_scotland #scotland_insta #discoveredinburgh #topedinburghphoto #loveedinburgh #edinburghhighlights #visualsofscotland #unveiledinburgh #architecture #polarized (at Edinburgh, United Kingdom)
