🧿 - what does front look like?
It depends on who is in front, as some of us "load" different frontstates. We'll put this under a cut (some minecraft screenshots and doodles included).
Our general frontstate looks like a very basic room with a large couch and a rug; other furniture optional depending on who all is present in frontspace and what they are doing while in front (ie: fidgeting, lounging, etc.).
[ID: A pencil sketch overlooking a simple room with a rug and a couch. On the couch sits a bored person fidgeting with a device and looking towards a screen. A large monster lounges on the rug with a long tail curled around itself like a cat.]
The next step away from this general frontspace is the frontspace for one of our subsystems (we'll refer to them here as FD). This frontspace looks exactly like a college dorm we had for a year, complete with two beds, desks, chairs, closets, and an AC unit. It even smells vaguely like waxed tiles and mold. FD's frontspace tends to only "load" when they are frontstuck and isolated from the rest of the system.
It's actually a little horrifying how well this translated into minecraft.
[ID: A screenshot from minecraft of a room made of bright cream bricks, built to resemble a college dorm room. There are two beds atop bookshelves in either corner with chests beside them. In the center of the far wall is stone fencing placed in imitation of an AC unit, and high windows use iron bars and bright blue lights to imitate sunny windows.]
Then we have the frontspace used by another subsystem (CS). This one is a bedroom with a large bed, behind which is a stained glass window from which all the light comes into the room. We're not entirely sure why, but this room looks extremely blue. This tends to only "load" when a specific member is in front from CS, as the rest of them are able to "load" into the general frontstate without any issue.
Minecraft does not let us render the lighting how we like it, so please forgive how dark this screenshot is.
[ID: A very dark screenshot of a room in minecraft made of blue wood. There are cobwebs on the wall and a window to a pitch black night. The bed is enormous and takes up most of the space in the room, with carpets laid to imitate the draping of an oversized blanket. Wood is placed in the corners as mock desk and chair on the left and right respectively.]
The only other frontspace I know about is then mine, which is literally just a pitch black dome with an infinite number of eyes and wings on it with fluctuating furniture (either a nice chair or a bed with curtains). I can't front outside of this space (every time I've tried the body gets extremely sleepy which is. Weird. But okay.), and many of our other headmates struggle to "load" into this frontspace, which means that I end up limiting who can front when I'm in front myself.
[ID: A pencil sketch with a few different figures. First is a large dark dome, with hastily-sketched wings and eyes on it and a chair placed in the center. Second is a picture of a person with long flowy hair reading a book on a chair, staring with mild concern at the eyes with wings labelled "silently staring." In the corner, a masked elfin person with small horns asks "Dude WTF is this place."]
