Jia was pretty sure this was what hell was like. Her, at the mercy of Nari. She was not entirely sure what she had done to incur her wrath; it was not a race thing. That she would have understood as it was usually a race thing with everyone else, but Nari seemed to dislike her for other reasons she could not fathom, even back when they were trainees. She would have thought being in the same group might have created some type of bond between them, but no. Nari seemed to hate her even more, which was something she never thought possible. Nari was glamorous and beautiful and fully Korean. She was clearly much more marketable than her and did not have the recent events with Daewon looming over her head, threatening to ruin her reputation before they even reached the one year mark. What was there to be upset about? What had Jia done to her? She was not exactly brave enough to ask.
Of course, this was, admittedly, a bit her fault.
She had done a web clip not too long ago for Dingo Beauty, modeling lipsticks for a brand that would clearly never deign to pay her for the advertisement. It had been fun, but nothing big. Unfortunately, it had also led to an influx of comments on Nari’s YouTube channel. Everyone was asking for Nari to do Jia’s makeup. It might have been avoided, had Koala.T not heavily suggested they do it. Jia had avoided Nari’s eyes during that entire meeting. She wondered how many times she would jab an eyeliner pencil in her eye while pretending it was an accident. Jia cleared her throat, starring at the array of items. She didn’t normally watch Nari’s videos; she doubted Nari watched any of her acting roles. Still, she had seen her face even without the help of professionals and she was certainly good at it. She cleared her throat, already worried about Nari’s preferred weapons of torture.
“So, what exactly is the concept for today?” she asked. Jia had let Nari plan out as much of it as possible, figuring invading her turf in this way was bad enough. Nari had yet to get physically violent, but Jia had no doubt she would be scrappy if called upon. She eyed the amount of glitter. Oh boy.
