It’s no secret to anyone that I am a huge advocate for Deaf awareness and more Deaf characters on television. Today I had the incredible opportunity to ask THE CHRIS HARDWICK what he thought about a Deaf character on The Walking Dead and if he would pass along the message asking for a Deaf character on the show. He said he thought there should be and he doesn’t know why there aren’t a lot of Deaf characters on TV shows and then I showed him the ASL sign for “fucking” and “vomit” and “cat” (he asked!)
He was so nice and patient with me and he stumbled over my name (Krasava) but I think that’s because my voice was shaking!! Maybe nothing will come of it but I am so thankful to at least have the opportunity to ask him about Deaf representation on TV…the experience was unreal and I hope everyone will check out Chris Hardwick on his ID10T Tour and on @midnight and The Talking Dead.
And if we do see a Deaf character on The Walking Dead next season or the season after…thank you Chris Hardwick, just, thank you.
