{This is a fic on what I believe happened after Days of Future Past and it contains Kitty+Bobby :,)  }

It had been a couple of days since Logan had awoken from the apocalyptic future he had helped prevent.       The professor had decided to not mention any of it to anyone to prevent any confusion or even distress in the school for gifted youngsters.      It was 7 a.m. on a weekday and Logan was still asleep.      There was a light knock at his door that persisted until he heard his name.        "Logan" the voice whispered. Logan recognized the voice instantly, it was Rogue.      He sluggishly sat up yawning and opened the door.      "Hey kid"  he said yawning again. She continued to whisper      "Can I talk to you? About… something.“  She said looking troubled.      Logan still wasn’t used to seeing Rogue like this, all grown up since she had been gone from his life all those years.       “Sure what’s going on? He still knew when something was bothering her however.       She walked in more, shut the door and stayed quiet for a while  fiddling  with her gloves.      "Marie” he said in a serious tone. She looked up.       “I’m leaving..” She paused then continued       “I can’t do this anymore Logan..”

      “ What? Is something going on with Bobby? Is he pressuring you?” She shook her head  "No.. It’s me.. I can’t do this anymore. I feel so guilty not being able to be with him.. I know it bothers him too but he won’t admit it.. He’s just so sweet with me and patient. He doesn’t deserve this. It’s been too many years like this. It’s becoming too much for me to handle anymore..“ tears began forming in her eyes.      Logan sat down "If that’s what you feel you need to do then you should. But don’t feel guilty, you know that none of that is your fault, okay? She said semi-nodded” I guess.. “ She pulled out a folded letter from her dark forest green jacket.       "Can you give this to Bobby.. After I’ve left. He’s in the kitchen..”      "So you’re not going to tell him that you’re leaving?“ giving her a look if disapproval. A tear fell "I can’t, he’ll try and talk me out of it and my mind is already made up.. I don’t want to make this harder than it already is..” she handed him the letter. Logan took the note and nodded      "Alright, just keep in contact with me now and then okay?“ She nodded "Thank you Logan..” she hugged him carefully avoiding any skin to skin contact. With that Rogue left his room Gathering her things and departed. This moment had been nostalgic to Logan from the other past, only now Rogue was a grown woman but to Logan she will always be like a daughter to him.

        The kitchen wasn’t too full surprisingly. Bobby, Kitty, and Colossus sat at the table discussing kitties lesson plan and Bobby seemed really interested.      Both Kitty and Bobby were really into the conversation as Colossus sat in the middle taking sips of his orange. He seemed to be a little bit lost in his own world.        "Kitty do you mind if I sit in your class today?“ Bobby asked enthusiastically. Kitty nodded smiling ” Yeah of course, right Colossus?“ Colossus looked over baffled snapping out of his thoughts. "Oh.. Uh sure. Actually I have a couple of errands to do if you don’t mind.” They both nodded        "Okay.“ Kitty smiled continuing the conversation with Bobby over her lesson plan.

     Logan passed by looking into the kitchen and saw Kitty and Bobby going back and forth on ideas they both agreed on. He then chuckled to himself remembering that in his past future, they had ended up together. And for some reason with what’s going on with Rogue he remembered what past Beast had said "It’s like a river- you can throw a pebble in and create a ripple, but the current always corrects itself.” Bobby sees Logan “Hey Logan, if you see Rogue can you tell her to meet me at Kitty’s class? We were supposed to meet here but Kitty’s class is about to start.”

Logan only nodded. Both Kitty and Bobby waved to Logan and Colossus and walked out and went to Kitty’s class. Colossus stayed seated.      "Colossus, everything Ok? Colossus looked up at Logan “Yeah” Logan’s sat with him. “You sure?” Colossus shook his head. More mutant students walked in and he stayed quiet. “Y-Yeah, thanks I just have a couple of things to take care of” he says as he leaves excusing himself.      "Alright..“ Logan says aloud.

    Kitty’s class ends and all the students rush out. Kitty and Bobby both walked out of the classroom laughing together. Logan was standing at the door waiting for Bobby.

Bobby took notice and with look on Logan’s face he knew something was off.       "Logan what happened with Rogue? Did you see her at all?” His tone began to change to worry. Kitty stood quietly next to Bobby. Logan placed his hand behind his head. “Marie-Rogue.. left” Bobby was confused “Left?” Logan nodded “She’s.. gone” Bobby stared back at Logan in disbelief        "No she’s not.“ Bobby rushed to Rouge’s room with Kitty and Logan following behind. Bobby reached Rogue’s room and stood for a second before opening the door. She wasn’t there. Bobby went to open her closet and found it empty. He turned to Logan. "Where is she?” Logan took out the letter for Bobby from Rogue and handed it to him. Bobby took the letter “What is this?”

     "It’s from Rogue.“ he said in a low voice Bobby immediately opened and read it.

          "Bobby,                       Please forgive me but I can’t keep going on like this. I feel horrible for doing this to you but this just isn’t going to work.. For us.. I love you but I can’t ever truly be with you the way I want to.. The way you deserve. I know it hurts you too and this guilt I feel for it is too much for me. And I’m sorry it took me this long to tell you. I just want you to find happiness and be able to embrace it like you never could with me. Please don’t look for me, please don’t wait for me.. Try and move on without me.. Please.. I know you’ll be happier this way..                                Marie”

Bobby placed his hand on his face as if in pain, shutting his eyes with tears slowly falling. He sat on Rogue’s bed feeling weak as it all sunk in.

         Logan spoke “Look kid-” Bobby cut him off “You just let her leave? Without telling me?” He snapped           “It was her decision not mine.” Bobby’s tears continued to fall          "Can you please just go.“

Logan left without another word.

    Kitty stood watching her longtime friend and teammate slowly fall apart in front of her.       "Bobby, I’m sorry..” She said placing her hand on his shoulder. Bobby didn’t speak. Kitty frowned “I’m here if you want to talk…but it seems you want to be alone right now.” Just as she was about to remove her hand from his shoulder he placed his hand on hers.        "Kitty..“ he looked up at her.          "Don’t go.. Please..” He slowly took his hand off of hers and Kitty dropped her hand to her side. Kitty froze at his look of sadness crying out to her. Her feelings for him had never changed though Logan had undone their history. She always had a special place for him in her heart.  Kitty stood staring back at him with concern.

        “I just.. don’t understand where this is coming from all of a sudden, why now? Everything was fine..” he shut his eyes again. She stepped closer to him.       “I’m sure her intention wasn’t to hurt you..” she said softly. He looked up at her. She continued “Have you ever put yourself in her position? Blaming herself and feeling as though it’s her fault even though it’s not?” Bobby nodded “I have.. Thousands of times but she never spoke to me about it, only in the beginning when we met did we have an actual serious conversation about it. Most of the time she had small break downs but she always got over them.. Or so I thought. What I can’t understand is why she didn’t just talk to me if she was feeling like this?” Kitty’s eyes began to tear up the more she heard the pain in Bobby’s voice. Bobby’s frustration grew more.           “Why did she just run away?!” He cried covering his face with his hands. Kitty rose both arms hesitantly at first then gently placed them over his shoulders to comfort him and as soon as Bobby felt her gentle hands, he wrapped both arms around her, clinging onto her trying to ease the pain that was killing him from the inside. He cried deeply with his face buried into her waist. She held him tighter, tears now running down her face. Kitty’s emotions were everywhere at this point yet she was able to keep her composure apart from the tears she just couldn’t hold back. She felt guilty for thinking this to herself but she saw a chance to be with Bobby. Soon after she remembered that she had something with Colossus. Something that she wasn’t truly committed to but she kind of just gave into seeing that Bobby had chosen Rogue from the start. There was never a mutual romance between the two, it was one sided. It seemed more like a partnership. Colossus was the one that had shown interest in Kitty and she decided to give him a chance though Bobby always lingered in her heart. All these things buzzed around her head as she tried to comfort Bobby. Having him this close now with this opportunity she wanted to just tell him how she felt but she couldn’t. She couldn’t do this to Colossus or Bobby. Right now all she wanted to do is be there for Bobby.
