currently reading: Started/caught up on a lot of manga since quarantine started lol.  The main ones I’m following now are Kaguya-sama: Love is War, Spy x Family, and Hamefura.

My brother loves Sibyl. I find her just really annoying. But killing her was so unnecessary.

@ibmiller -- it occurs to me that this is going to be my Birthday Gift from DC, since my Birthday is 18th May. As if I weren't ALREADY dreading it...

Bendis gave an off the cuff answer that didn't really provide my information. It's a confirmation that we're going to get some Stephanie and Tim content... but it still leaves me very anxious and nervous.

So far though, all the clues and the evidence suggests that either something genuinely bad has happened to Steph, or that she and Tim have broken up. And it's just... them breaking up doesn't add to HER story, it adds to HIS.

She's SURELY been through ENOUGH by now! Even in just New 52/Rebirth. From the top of my head:

1) Found out that both her Dad and her Mum were conspiring against her, and that her Dad was trying to kill her.

2) Had her mentor, Eiko Hagisawa, turn on her morals and murder a whole roof top of people just to prove a point?

3) Had her boyfriend die

4) Been emotionally manipulated by Anarky

5) Been emotionally manipulated by Batman

6) Had to leave her #NotDead Boyfriend because he was being self destructive and distancing himself from her

Now, I need to go through Detective Comics to get to the real truth of the matter, but the bits I have read are not promising for our Steph. And I'm just... I want her to get a chance for true happiness, even if that means being with Tim. And I want her to be MORE than Tim's (ex)girlfriend, but if you're always doing all their relationship development off screen, then it's not going to work! Like, Babara and Dick are always on-again-off-again, but you always get to see how that realtionship develops in the comics, and not as just flashbacks.

Doing a time jump, and having an existing couple break up in that time CAN work. It worked well with M'Gann and Conner in the Young Justice TV series. But you also had them as recurring characters on the same show given equal (ish) screen time. That allows for M'Gann to have character development, whilst allowing the mystery of what happened between them to enhance the viewer's experience.

Oooh, Princess and the Goblin! Have you read it (and Princess and Curdie) before?

I’d have to see what the whole book’s lineup looked like for myself, and I have my biases over which issues I’d probably have selected for Cass as my Top Two. #8 feels good -- it’s one of her most famous quotes and it’s a pretty epic moment when she defeats Shiva, of course, if only by a sucker punch. I think that really is a good one for accurately encapsulating her style. 

#45 I’m more on the fence about -- it’s moe famous for its (spectacular) cover than for the story within it, though there’s a great speech given by Babs at the end about what a soul is, and it’s a truly tender moment between the two of them that is probably a good display of their relationship (which I’d assume is why they’d want it in a book celebrating all of the Batgirls). But if I was going to pick an issue from Dylan Horrocks’ run, I’d have gone with #47 -- it’s less famous, but the crux of the story is Cass dealing with her disability and the unique way she has communicated in the world (particularly sign language), which I think would have helped with a more rounded view of her character, since her disabilities have been such a huge part of who she is. 

It also would have been nice to have an issue in there with he and Steph’s friendship featured -- like #21 (though it being a tie-in to an event probably omits it by default) or #53, which has the original Team Batgirl of Babs, Cass, and Steph.
