Omg. First light on the Evostar 62!! As you may recall, I did set her up previously but wasn't able to achieve focus 😕😢 but after some awesome advice and after sale service from @bintel_astronomy I've added an extra extension tube and this time it did!! YES!! ✊️ But we think I need to add one more to tidy up the corners!! Guys and gal's... I can fit the whole Carina nebula into one shot!! Heart Nebula - IC 1805 Beginning to combine data from multiple sessions. I have never tried combining data before so this is all new to me. With the three sessions I have just under 6 hours worth of data and with the last two sessions I have almost 3.5 hours. Processing wise, I do not like combining the broadband data with the narrowband and moving forward if I capture any more of the Heart Nebula I will probably leave it behind . Moon 🌙 - 11-28-2020 98% Luminosity . Decided to attempt capturing the Moon with my Meade 80mm and my Canon EOS Ra. I'm pleased with the results for a first attempt with the current luminosity almost being 100%. The brighter the Moon the harder to pull any detail. Images 1 & 2 were taken st 1/1000s with no filter. 200 images staked with 50 dark frames. ISO was 400. Image 3 was taken at 1/125s at 400 ISO with an Optolong L-Enhanced filter. 200 images stacked, no darks. Image 4 was taken with a 642-IR filter at 1/250s at 400 ISO, no dark frames. All images stacked in AutoStakkert and processed in Photoshop. . The Moon - 11-26-2020 (90% Luminosity) Of all the targets in space, the Moon is definitely my first love. With transitioning into deep space photography (DSO), I feel like I have been neglecting and cheating on her. She always knows how to get back at me though, by being near full and then essentially full on clear nights (like tonight) making it nearly impossible for me to focus on anything but her - especially while in the city. . Because I have been beginning to do DSO and have begun transitioning to more traditional processing techniques by using Deep Sky Tracker and Photoshop, I experimented with Photoshop's RAW Camera filter a bit on the first two images. Images three and four are more normal way of processing (basically keep it simple and stupid) while the last two, as always, are the fan favorite inverts. Tonight I plan on using my 80mm refractor on the Moon since it will be up and bright the entire evening. These were taken with my Nikon CoolPix P950. . 35 light frames 15 dark frames 1/800s, 400 ISO, & f/6.5 at 2000mm .
