@iamfuckingtrash replied to your post āWhich one of these things do you think I'm lying...ā:
Did you just, have books in braille? Without knowing braille?
ālibrarians are very wonderful people who don't ask questions, and who will let you check out whatever books you want so long as you bring them back later

i think being able to write that much may be a talent, no?
-
not at all. it's just discipline. a lot of people give up writing because the beginning of the fic is the easiest part and when they get to the middle they get stuck because they don't know how to write without being inspired. knowing what to do when you get to the middle has nothing to do with talent; I certainly floundered during that portion of my early fics. it's really just about learning what to do when you actually have to think about what you need to write and it doesn't just magically come to you. perhaps there are some people who know how to do that instinctively, but I'm not one of them
yo i just wanna say ur like the one goy i know that actually interacts with jewish ideologies and talks meaningfully about jewish texts & history & lore and stuff in a totally respectful way + in a way that makes it clear uve actually put in research (bc a loooot of ppl will make kabballah seem all like. *weird* and spooky, but u dont) and i really appreciate that
UNDERSTANDING WHERE KABBALA SITS IN MAGICAL HISTORY IS FOUNDATIONAL FOR UNDERSTANDING EVERYTHING THAT CAME AFTER IT
THE PROBLEM WITH A LOT OF OCCULTISTS IS THAT THEY DONT DO ENOUGH RESEARCH TO UNDERSTAND EXACTLY WHY KABBALLAH IS POWERFUL THEY DONT UNDERSTAND HOW SPECIFIC IT IS TO JEWISH CULTURE AND HOW ITS PRINCIPLES JUST FLAT OUT DO NOT TRANSLATE TO NON-JEWS
PLUS IT DOESNT HELP THAT āKABBALLAHā PRETTY MUCH JUST BECAME THE 8TH CENTURY GENERAL TERM FOR āESOTERIC RELIGIOUS PRACTICEā SO WESTERN WRITERS WOULD LOOK AT JABBIR IBN-HAYYAN AND BE ALL āWOW LOOK AN ISLAMIC KABBALLISTā

whats the point of a split keyboard?? what do u DO with thar wxtra room??
you put snacks in the middle!!!
Y'know, theres fight, flight, and freeze, but when a person scares me, I instinctively flirt... How do you think Jon would deal with somebody who did that? (I was thinking of when I was in a haunted house, somebody jumped out at me, and without thinking I just went 'hey babe ;)' and absolutely d y i n g thinking about somebody doing that to Crane)
Pthh okay, now thatās a funny concept.
I donāt know if heās ever had someone try to flirt with him after being sprayed with toxin, but itās gotta happen something, right? Iām not really sure how heād react though, maybe heād be taken aback or perhaps heād whip out a sarcastic comment about dating his victim? Iām sure thereās lots of ways this could happen. I really like the concept though!
Thank you for sharing!

i get why the ghost author thing is bad but . best sellers are best sellers for a reason right i mean . if ppl like those books why wouldnt u wanna have em ?
The issue isnāt buying bestsellers - public libraries try to do that as much as possible because, as you say, people want them. The issue is quantity. Patterson produces a lot of books very quickly, and libraries often tend to purchase multiple copies of bestsellers to keep wait times down. However, the amount of available shelving does not increase at a rate equal to Pattersonās production speed, so they either have to weed other books to make room or keep trying to wedge more books into the same space. So itās the spatial concerns that are the biggest deal. A bunch of the replies and tags on that post are just librarians complaining about what portion of their fiction section has been taken over by the Patterson behemoth.Ā
